We are **** at the moment. We are punting about 100 balls in the box per game and we never win headers... I don't get it.
shocking...we deserved to lose.....they've been much faster all day....no creativity up front again...why do we keep pumping high balls into the box....have we won ONE all day.....very disappointing performance....down to 13th now.
Very unlucky not to score in the dying moments, but in truth we didn't deserve anything from the game. We dearly missed Aluko's creativity, and failed to create much in the final third.
Aluko's creativity is missing so bad. We need to get someone in January big time. International break sucks dick. This defeat stings. Shoulda been 0-0
I hate it when we play teams we're expected to beat. None of the forward players had any sense of urgency for 80 minutes and we are devoid of attacking ideas. The only tactic seems to be to knock it wide and get a hopeful cross in, even though all season we've seen that every opposition defence deals with our crosses without difficulty. At the start of the season we shocked teams because we backed our ability and our passing game, but now we only play percentages and hope that if we get 20 crosses in one might fall nicely.
Poor performance. Players didn't look like they wanted it which is the biggest problem We need someone like Jedinek to sit in front of our back 4 to allow Thudd and Livermore to play a little further forward. Neither Boyd nor Koren beat their man and looked to cut inside too often. Brady was probably rushed back but he needs a position now. Somewhere where he will get 4-5 games to sort himself out. Have no idea why we pumped the ball high every time - it was easy for the Palace defenders in the end. I'm not sure where we go from here but we have 7 games in December and three are against the perceived top 6. We're still ahead of the points per game ratio which is important but this means we need to pick something up from Arsenal, Liverpool or Swansea for this to continue. Maybe they were rusty, but this is the Premier League and we need to move on quickly
Feel very flat after that. We're badly lacking any sort of goal threat and we have a tough run of games coming up. We knew this season would be a struggle though and we need to take the rough with the smooth. Some of the reactions on Facebook are embarrassing. This is where we will hopefully see hat a good manager Bruce is for a club like ourselves in the Premier League. Playing Palace is also ****ing depressing and replacing the Burnley hoodoo. Can only remember one victory over them in the last few years!
We don't play to our strengths in attack. That was amazingly evident against the 9-men of Sunderland, where our answer to failing crosses was to cross the ball more, and then put more strikers on. Rather than trying to cross more, or put more strikers in the box - we should be questioning the crossing itself. We can pass the ball well, let's try passing. It has to be better than Huddlestone floating in another 'cross' from deep. I think we probably have more chances against Liverpool next week, because we don't have to break them down, if we get a chance it will probably be on the counter. Once we have possession and have to think about having to score, we just end up throwing aimless crosses in and wondering why we don't score.
Why when McShane has to go off do we fail to bring on Faye as a straight replacement, but instead reshuffle the defence and make the team more disjointed then it was at the start. We have a natural winger in Brady playing inside with Koren playing out of position and Rosenior sitting on the bench when he should have started giving a stronger back four and Elmo could have played in front of him.Brucey's recent line ups and substitutions have been poor he seems to be over thinking the team selection and not keeping a settled formation thereby allowing consistency and understanding. Yes I know there have been a lot of injuries but Brady in particular has been rushed back in earlier games and has yet to regain anything like his early season form. In my eyes the team is totally dis-jointed and we need to get a settled formation as quickly as possible. We were very poor going forward and seem to need to pass across the park ,slowing down forward movement and any chance of an incisive break.Action is needed before the rot sets in.
Shocking performance. Palace came with a scrappy 'kick it anywhere' Championship style game and instead of stamping our authority on the game by getting it down and playing it around, frustrating them, we resorted to taking part in a scrappy encounter that we don't have the type of players to win. The fact is, we didn't start performing with any urgency until the stoppage time voard went up!
Why has Bruce started playing loads of players out of position? We looked dogshit today, due to so many players out of position.
Two games in a row I think Brucey has got his team selection wrong. If Brady isn't "all there" as he says, then why play him? Especially out of position. We've got Elmo in right back, Koren on the wing, Figueroa ended up in Centre Back (granted that was because of McShane's injury) etc. I don't think we'd have scored if we were played for another week. If we were creating chances and not scoring, it'd be less worrying, but considering the fact we're not even creating chances, it's certainly a cause for concern. Koren was useless, but that's because he really can't play out wide. I've lost all patience with Graham now too; he's lazy, lacks enthusiasm, doesn't get into scoring positions, can't win a header (actually saw him duck under the ball from a cross in the game) and I just can't see him getting out of this slump he's in. I hope the rumours of Sunderland recalling him are true because it then it doesn't look as bad for us if we'd have terminated the loan altogether. McShane, Davies and Sagbo were brilliant today, Sagbo's looking like a good prospect to me, he's quite exciting. Elmohamady just simply isn't good enough for the Premier League. I'll gladly take a slice of humble pie as I was one who was bigging him up saying he'd be fine in the Premier League but he just isn't cut out for it at all. Although, his defensive game took a vast improvement today, I will say that. One sloppy piece of defending cost us a goal today, not entirely bad, but that was a massive game in terms of points tally come the end of the Season. If we play like that against Liverpool, we'll get spanked by 4 or 5 goals. We've got a really tough December, and I can't see us getting many points in the coming games which will surely hamper our chances at signing players in January.
I also would have swapped Boyd and Brady around. Boyd isn't a winger, he's much better playing behind the striker.
Yes, the right side should be Rosenior in RB with Elmo in RM, and the left side as Figueroa in LB and Brady in LM. That shouldn't change unless injury's occur then Boyd can fill in.
We can't rely on keeping clean sheets, we need to be able to score more than one, its like we are trying to play for a 1-0 all the time with a lucky goal. However we didn't create enough for that one goal, our crosses are awful, literally awful, Elmo has lost it unfortunately. Brady needs to played wide to get the most from him, Boyd and Koren aren't wingers and we should stop playing them there as it narrowed it up so much. Mcshane was poor, no idea what you guys saw, Jerome had him all day long, won every ball, held it up, was really good. Bolasie was also good. We really do miss some creativity as Livermore and Huddlestone are great at distributing it but no-one made any runs or even looked to make any. Worst we have performed in a while. Also the City til I Die and We say No Allams songs where brilliant everyone near me in the West stand was singing them, and the Stewards where way OTT, but clearly AA sent them.
