TBH, I can see how hurtful it would be for the people who've travelled down to Stoke, just before Christmas, and had the game ruined by a referee. We can all tolerate losing but that was an excellent tackle that totally got the ball. That's £100 out of people's pockets and they won't be home for hours.

It's a nice idea but who makes the decision? Isn't a 4th or 5th official just as likely to make an incorrect decision as a referee? Yes the heat of the moment factor is taken away, but with things like tackles it is subjective more than objective. As soon as a decision is made that most agree with, there would be riots.
I've just said, on another thread, that people who've turned out, just before Christmas, paid £100 and had their day ruined are the victims. My thoughts are mainly for them tonight, it's all very easy for us to say 'Oh dear, what a shame,' from the comfort of a keyboard.
