Stupid from Fonte. Mertesacker was going nowhere. We've given them both their goals and, while I admire Poch's balls for making a big call, he made a mistake taking Lallana off.

Is it good or bad that 2 of our subs are kids who have never played a league game before? Lambert is untouchable; he may play a bit crap half the time but the other half of the time he can be brilliant. He'll be even more frustrated in himself if he gets subbed off as he wants to play, but sometimes there are better options, like Osvaldo.

Every team loses sometime. This was not unexpected, but, having beaten Liverpool and drawn with United, we were entitled to have hopes. Onwards and upwards.
Wasn't really expecting anything out of this, but a pretty dire performance in attack nonetheless. Arsenal did an excellent job of escaping the press, but our forwards don't appear to have come back from international duty yet.

An odd sort of game. Although we lost and the goals we conceded were laughable really, and we barely had a shot in the whole match, there are a few positives to take. Wanyama was excellent, and Ward-Prowse was outstanding, I don't think he made a single mistake even playing out of position. Clyne looked comfortable on the left and Hooiveld didn't really do anything wrong. On the whole, we didn't really compete but we weren't really outplayed either. Things didn't really go for us today. You can't win them all and if you have to lose you might as well lose to the league leaders I suppose.
Wanyama and JRod were massive plusses for me. I thought Lallana was very good until he went off. Perhaps it was fatigue?
Disappointing to lose, of course, but let's keep it in context - we just lost away to the (very good) league leaders after losing 2 of our first choice back 4. It wasn't our greatest display, but we were never dominated. Wanyama was immense today as well. They did a good, professional job on us, but the goals were ultimately 2 errors. Things are still rosy.
