Not seen him play but hasn't he just moved to Russia in Summer? Maybe he's just come to watch Sakho, both similar age and French, guessing might be mates?
If you want to be pedantic I'm sure we can find precedents of bad calls on fouls dating back to the Mayans kicking heads around for fun. Usually a high flying, studs up challenge from behind that cuts open the player in question should be a red card. I know Nani also got cut but the tackle was slightly different. Carragher caught Nani on the mid-calf area which (while it should have been a red in retrospect) is closer to the ball and the area that tackles are normally made. The issue was the timing, not the area of impact. Had Carragher tackled earlier he would have lowered the boot and caught the ball. Nani had a long laceration which indicates that the studs slid off the leg, as opposed to a direct impact into the calf. This means Carragher was aiming beside the leg and not into it. Carragher also tackled from the front. At the time I defended Carra but I changed my mind since then. It was late and should have been a red. Mirallas on the other hand was miles away from the ball, much later than Carragher was, and his high boot caught and cut Suarez underneath the knee. That's a good indicator that Mirallas never would have gotten to the ball and wasn't looking to play it safely. It was malicious. Suarez has lacerations directly into his skin in the shape of studs which shows that Mirallas was intent on going through the leg as opposed to around it. Mirallas also tackled from behind. Is that better? Edited for clarity.
Even more reason. It was last summer I think but the team he went to aren't doing well and I think he has been interested in a move for awhile. Fallen out of the French squad since going to Russia.
Game hinged on four things - Liverpool having their best players involved in this week's internationals. - An awful piece of officiating - Awful defending - comedy of errors for Lukaku's first goal especially, but both sides guilty - Joe Allen's miss - the most important
Well, BR said he would now only buy players better than the current fielded. As it stands that can't be hard to do for any of our CM's. Johnson really needs competition for his spot. If Flannigan can improve then LB might just become competitive one Enrique returns but not sure. Moses isn't showing me anything to think keep him. And Sm1thy you really are the dullest wum to have crawled out from under a rock. Someone else from the manc board help him out. You make UIR look like a positively artistic wum. You're the wum equivelent of Anderson.
I'm not, I'm saying the match could have been markedly different if such a shocking tackle had've been properly dealt with - the effect on the game, both teams, crowd.
