    Krul/Forster/Harper(don't mind)

    Simpson Coloccini Taylor Enrique/Naylor/Fergie

    Barton/Jonas Tiote Cabaye

    Ben Arfa Nolan

    New Striker

  6. Nah, I think Cabaye would be wasted on the left. He says he loves being on the ball and making alot of passes and attacking. So it's obvious his best position is CAM, right in the action.

Wasn't really suggesting he would be on the left. To make it clearer...

We need width, but can't please everyone I suppose. Gutierrez plays better when Ben Arfa is fit so would play him.

Tiote is the deepest midfielder, that's all that can be for certain. Cabaye in the middle obviously, but would love to see him play WITH Nolan.

The season is barely over and I can't wait for it to start again. Getting withdrawal symptoms.

This Article is stupid end of!!

How the hell do you win games?? BY SCORING GOALS! and i have watched a majority of his games this season and he has tecnical ability, he can pass the ball and he puts himself around the pitch

if maybe you were to watch properly you would see that he covers a lot of ground considering he defends set pieces whilst attacks with our and its not just that, he's always in the right place at the right time, besides that he also offers so much off pitch and in the dressing room

he's the first name on the team sheet for me

beyond beliefe how you can drop your top goalscorer even after he missed quite a few games

Have any of you acctually watched cabaye play or do you just like him because of fifa/FM?

Yes he is a good player but firstly. someone said he has bags of pace? No...hes not slow but hes not really fast either.

Someone said he has great potential. he's 25... yes he can become a great player in the premier league, but he wont be world class, he'll be top clast maybe but not world class.

thirdly do you want me to name as many players as i can that were great in other leagues but flopped in the premier league, most notably ill say the two former man united players, vernon and forlan.

And everyone saying that newcastle would have done better without nolan last season has gone completly cookoo. go compare results with him and then without him.

people underestimate him so much its flipping incrediable like wow. hes your damn captain and some of you show no appreciation at all.

    Mackem in peace here.
If you watch Nolan seriously, then you will see that most of his goals or assists start with him cheating and impeding/holding on to people in the 6 yard box, I can't believe the refs let him get away with it.
Having said that, I wouldn't mind him in our team, he's just what we need - streetwise, old head on his shoulders and I definitely think that if you lose him and Barton you will struggle next season.

Loads of teams do that though Nolan is just good at it. It's brilliant when we have a free kick in a dangerous position and he starts blocking the goalkeepers view <laugh>

Honestly, I do not understand some people. Nolan's goals are the only thing he offers to the team. He is completely inept in the centre of midfield because his legs are gone so he can't track back, and he needs Tiote to do all that work for him. He also however doesn't offer enough creatively to warrant being carried like he is. In the hole there are younger, fitter, more skillful options who could do a far better job.

He should be kept as a sub next season - for his leadership and impact in the dressing room - and then replaced, but if we receive a respectable offer we should sell, it's great business getting a high earner like Nolan who is in the twilight of his career off the bill. I love Nolan and hope he can find a way to adapt, but I think sadly his footballing career, not just his Newcastle career, is on the decline.

We have to remember he played last season with an ankle injury and had to have surgery to rectify this.

Judge a first eleven when the friendlies near an end, not now.

Think we should keep Nolan just in case Ben Arfa and/or Cabaye don't adapt to the League but I agree that Nolan has been very poor since Carroll has gone. When he can't score , he doesn't offer anything to the team both in attack and defense and he also doesn't seem to last 90 mins anymore.

Personally I think he should be dropped if we get a good consistent 15-20 goals a season striker. The reason he has been so vital this year is because we had such a ****e strikeforce.
