Why not read all the documents on the Swansea City Supporters Trust site. Basically, supporters form a trust and pay money into it. The money is then handed over to Hull City to help buy players and pay their wages. Each year you pay your money over to the trust who in turn hands it over to the club. The trust's committee is elected by the members and they may get somebody on the board of the club or not.

I think you'll find that all supporters' trusts, including Germany and Barcelona have a one way system for cash. It goes from the supporters into the club.

    Here's the link again:

A rather sweeping statement dont you think?

As i predicted some special people want to feel special and have formed a group to feel superior to common fans.

The campaigning on one issue didnt last long did it.

Any supporters trust must be a separate organisation to CTWD, unless the name change campaign is dropped and the group changes it's name.

Some fans that would like to financially support a Trust may not be against the name change and refuse to donate.

CTWD divides opinion whereas a Fan's Trust must not.

    Mistake Chaps.

    This.

As some will know already, I volunteer for the OSC but I have to agree with this. The OSC's aim is to have a thriving OSC, nothing else.

I don't think it's a sweeping statement at all, the OSC have many years to launch a supporters trust, yet have never done so. They have less members than this message board and can barely get over 10% of them to respond to an important vote.

Nobody is trying to feel special, a group of around twenty people are putting in a lot of time and effort to try and do what they think is best for the club. Once set up, none of them will be guaranteed to be involved at all, it will be entirely at the discretion of the members.

At the moment, our aim is to stop the name change, the supporters truss is a longer term aim, one which our owner is telling us is what he wants.

This group was set up with one aim only wasnt it? Is it in any of the minutes about a supporters trust? What other aims are there?

No, but for most people it can seem that way as the lower level is a notional rate*. High earners have to pay a top up.

*because the company pays corporation tax before the dividends are paid out when you're looking at the person's finances you treat them as though 10% tax has been paid on them. So if the company pays you £100, you receive £100, but the government looks at it as you receiving £110 and says you've paid £10 in tax as well. I don't know why they don't just lower the rate of tax on it by 10% (politically maybe something to do with it looking like reducing tax for the rich again) to make the paperwork easier. It could be the old thing about an accountant being asked why the system was so confusing saying that if accountants made made it simple for people to do then there'd be no need for accountants.

I decided to keep going, Fez. I don't see how i can help the cause by staying at home. I won't let the good Doctor intimidate me into apathy. No, i'll stand my ground, and stay right in his face...

If that's the case, I'll be happy to join and think it would be a great thing for our club.

I think that's imperative for the long-term stability of what would be the trust. Alongside the fact that dividends should go back into the trust (after any money taken out for administrative purposes that are listed by the club).

I just want this to happen transparently and for the long-term, not as a quick reaction to something that has (rightfully) angered us all. And clearly, the trust will benefit from people who are clearly passionate and well organised like the CTWD.

Just joined and donated a fiver. Got an email to say the payment had gone through do i get a welcome email to say Welcome to CTWD or anything else?

If you don't, good idea to get one, explain what the campaign is and put a link to your twitter and facebook accounts on it.

Lets keep this campaign going, today showed it is getting to AA.
