Having said that, one does have to put up with bald or big haired beared corduroy clad colourfully trousered weirdos..still,a mass improvement on the pram pushing snarling spitting shell suited scum that normally congeal our "pubs"..

A packed area for 6 hours and not an incident witnessed..proper people drinking proper beer...

I put up Senator Bong last Saturday and the horse ran well but sadly faded in the last 50 yards. I feel tomorrows drop back to 5f and a good draw in stall 2 will see him hold on if attempting to make all.

    Lingfield
    2.35 Senator Bong 7-1

Just popped on to say Clondaw Kaempfer looks a good bet tomorrow at 4/1 and I am glad Top Class agrees..I have him in my 5 to follow for the season and also believe he will improve no end should the injury that affected him last season not have left its mark on him. Hopeful he puts in a good round and can manage a win if he's ready to fire.

Beefy, are you sure Dawn Run won the Ascot Hurdle?...I thought her first run in the UK out of the novice dptm was the Christmas Hurdle where she beat Gaye Brief...might be wrong though...

Australia tied down...3 runs in 6 overs and a wicket down but a lead of 228

Clearly trying to see off the Broad and Anderson opening spell before having a go at Tremlett and Swann at the change.

Can see why you say that Bob, but I was trying to be tongue in cheek but that obviously that doesn't always come across on a forum :emoticon-0110-tongu She's a decent mare at the minute but has it all to prove. Seriously though, she is in my 5 to follow though so she's bound to be the next Dawn Run isn't she <laugh>

Anyone backing Tidal Bay in the Betfair? I'd rather back him than Cue Card or Dynaste. Not sure how well Haydock will suit Bob's Worth as he excels at Cheltenham. But I still think he would've beaten Silviniaco Conti in the Gold Cup had Silviniaco not fallen. For me, these two most likely to win.

Utopie Des Bordes best bet of the day for me (see write-up on the fixed brush hurdle thread) plus Bobs Worth in the Betfair - quite simply the best staying chaser in training and will have far too much in the locker for this lot. Tidal Bay is the e/w value on the race.

Quality rather than quantity at Ascot should see victories for Carraig Mor, Al Ferof (2 runners in the Amlin - what a joke), Annie Power (at the weights, but Zarkandar will give her a race) and Josses Hill. I will also be having a small dabble on another Kris Kin offspring, Lucinda Russell's Kris Cross in the 1.00 can pay the petrol money for the long trip south.

Best of luck everyone, cracking days racing.

The Betfair Chase is surely the best race we'll see this side of the Festival so enjoy it people! I've outlined my thoughts on the separate race thread and I do like Dynaste, certainly as an each way option at 13-2. Unfortunately Tom Segal has scuppered any hopes of better.

We thought we had some silly fields last weekend but what a joke those 2 good Ascot races are especially the 2-runner Ascot Chase FFS <doh>

Morning all... 2 bets for me today.....

Im with Dynaste in the Betfair and had a reasonable bet. 6/1 Each way BPG.

Gevrey Chambertin 7/1 each way BPG.

Really wanted to back Al Ferof today but not now there are only 2 in the field for the Amlin chase. Very sad to see that. Al Ferof is a horse to follow for me this season and I can see him playing a big part in the king george.

She's a great 5 to follow choice Beefy. Not many will have her and there's plenty of graded races for her to pick up. Definitely the 2nd best mare in the world. How Willie keeps picking the right ones is beyond me. The man and his team are sensational. I suppose it helps have a very rich banker to cough up the pennies at the sales.
