    Team News

QPR boss Harry Redknapp is hoping for some good news on the injury front ahead of the London derby against Charlton.

Midfielder Jermaine Jenas and winger Junior Hoilett (both hamstring) picked up injuries during the 1-1 draw at Reading last time out but have had a fortnight to recover.

Defender Richard Dunne is available despite initial fears he would miss out but Redknapp will also check on Tottenham loanee Tom Carroll, who is on the mend after six weeks out with an ankle injury, and winger Matty Phillips after he withdrew from the Scotland squad with a hamstring problem.

But midfielder Alejandro Faurlin (cruciate) and striker Bobby Zamora (knee) are still sidelined while Nedum Onuoha picked up another hamstring and will be out for a few weeks.

Yann Kermorgant could be back in Charlton's starting line-up for the trip across London to QPR.

The striker returned from an ankle injury as a substitute against Leeds a fortnight ago and has trained over the international break.

But centre-half Leon Cort has suffered a setback in his bid to return from the knee injury which has kept him out since August and will be on the sidelines for a while yet.

Full-back Chris Solly has begun light training after a knee injury but he will not be rushed back into action.

    Head-to-head

    • Only one win separates these clubs after 64 competitive meetings spanning 92 years; Charlton have won 22, QPR 21, with 21 drawn.
    • Rangers have won three and drawn one of their last four Championship matches against Charlton, but this is their first meeting in five seasons.
    • The Addicks last took away maximum points from Loftus Road in October 1997 after a 4-2 victory at this same level.

    Queens Park Rangers

    • Rangers have won only one of the last five league games but have also lost just one of their 15 this season, and lie two points off the pace.
    • QPR are unbeaten on their own ground, and top the Championship's "home" table, dropping just two points from a possible 21.
    • The west London club still boast the meanest defence in the Football League with an unmatched nine clean sheets, but Championship games involving the Hoops have yielded the fewest goals - just 25 (17 for, eight against).
    • The match takes place on the eve of Harry Redknapp's first anniversary as QPR manager.

    Charlton Athletic

    • The Addicks have only won three league games this term, and two of those have come in their last two away games; they have not mustered three away wins on the trot at this level for six years.
    • Chris Powell's side have scored 75% of their Championship goals after the break (three in the first-half; nine in the second-half); the highest proportion by any club in the division.
    • Charlton have not won a London derby in the Championship since January 2009 (home to Crystal Palace).

    Dean Whitestone (Northants)

REFEREE by day, Policeman by night, Dean Whitestone will oversee Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship match against Charlton Athletic.

This weekend’s fixture will be his first visit to Loftus Road in over three-and-a-half years when he officiated a 2-1 win against Doncaster Rovers.

Whitestone joined the League list, after progressing through the United Counties and Southern Leagues, as an assistant referee in 2001 and although he failed to gain promotion to the middle three years later, he succeeded at the second attempt in 2006.

This season is his seventh in the middle in the Football League and he has officiated 14 fixtures so far, including an international fixture between England and Italy’s under-17 side. That has seen him issue 33 yellow cards and three red cards whilst also awarding four penalties.

Charlton’s visit will be his fourth QPR fixture having previously been appointed to two wins and a loss.

Whitestone will be assisted by Geoff Law and Rob Whitton whilst Lee Venamore will take care of fourth official duties.

Im going today and were unbeaten when Ive gone, I just have to stay away from Beth as Ive seen her loads of times and weve never won when we see each other but win if were both there in different parts of the ground.

I seem to suck all the negative energy out of the players....and then post it all on here the following week.

No Hoilett, not even on the bench. But happy to see both Phillips and Kranjcar fit enough to start. Good lineup imo.
