Brilliant news - and only from what I've seen, deserved. He's made a huge difference to us, and it's nice to see him receive some external recognition.
It's nice to read other team's fans talking kindly about one of our youngsters http://www.qpr.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=339557
Indeed, but "unsurprising" would have been a better word for them to use rather than "inevitable": Cousin's rise to fame was inevitable; at the age of just 14 he played in an England U16 side and captained his country when they won the 2009 Victory Shield. Having returned from the U17 World Cup with his national side he was named League One Apprentice of the Year and having played a key role in a title-winning season for the U21 side last year ... We have seen so many players at Charlton and other clubs play for, and even captain, England through the successive age-levels then fade to nothing that there is nothing "inevitable" about it. Long, Sankofa and maybe Ajayi come to mind. I am sure you can suggest others. And the FA are now admitting that they have often selected the wrong players in their representative sides and plan to change things.
So now it seems that Spurs and Spam will bid for him in January, with luck we will not be desperate for cash by then? Oh and perhaps Hull and WBA who I guess would have no chance...... I know Hull will be the City of culture but... come on??? Conor Henderson went there in September and has so far played one Fizzy Pop game!
