Fan owned shares would be owned collectively by the supporters trust, not by any board member.

I fully expect an 'FAO PLT' thread to be up shortly. It's only fair.

Even if you don't I'll just start it in your name. And then give me loads of rep.

The membership model will demonstrate exactly who it represents: the members. How much more clear could it be?

I'm trying to solve this, we're aware of the issue and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

The cash is flying in, we've passed a grand already.

So can the supporters trust take money from the club? I'm just wondering, I've always thought fan ownership is a good idea but I'd never thought about these things before.

Its cool. DMD had it right. I just had to put a UK postal code in to bypass the field requirement. The payment screen wasnt a problem as I was able to pick my country. I could care less if I get something in the mail, so we are good to go.

Have a look at the link I put up earlier. Swansea City Supporters Trust put up their annual accounts, why not have a read. It tells you how much they got in dividends from Swansea City Football Club and how much the board got paid. The answer may surprise you.

Don't complain. That sounds like you've got a free membership to me.

OLM - need to get that checked. Sounds like an issue with the site that's approving orders even when payment is rejected. Who does the website by the way? I have to say it looks good.

There should be an opt out to the wristband etc as i'd rather my funds were left with the committee to fund the campaign

I got that, I asked and it seems you're not a member until you pay. I don't know how to resolve the paypal rejection though.

Have you seen many football clubs make profits to give dividends ?

Perhaps membership would actually give shares in the club in any future venture, thus if there are ever dividends then all members of any trust would receive a share of dividends

Fair enough, out of interest were you using a Paypal account or just entering card details. I've entered my card details (I have a paypal account, but can't be arsed to log into it. It really isn't any easier) a few times tonight and had no problem.

Its clear (I don't think I said it wasn't), but it is potentially a barrier to fans who are for the name change/against how CTWD do things. I think the concept should be applauded, but I do not believe it should be on the back of a campaign that has at times got quite personal with what would be the other shareholder (Dr Allam).

A new supporters trust should be started, inviting new founding members who may have slightly differing but valuable views to CTWD. This would be the best, most transparent and most inclusive way of taking this further in my very humble opinion.

This would come with the clause that I do expect that if this were to happen, many CTWD members would also join the new trust, which again, could bias the views, but they're also the type of passionate members you would want to keep this going as a voluntary basis.

If they ever bought shares & there were dividends then I'm guessing the trust would receive dividends, something to be considered before it ever happens, like many cooperatives/trusts those dividends should either be shared among members or re-invested in the club

I didn't do either, I was just having a neb to see what's involved, next thing I've got welcome emails, which is nice. I prefer sticking cash in a hand.
