Is it just me who is getting fed up of his "poor me" whinging with regards to the ref's chief apology to WBA "Nobody called me to apologise that it wasn't a free kick against West Brom for their second goal" says the "special one".

He's right though. The chief ref phoning to apologise for a ****ty decision that if the manager complains about ends up with a fine, is a poor substitute for actually holding the refs to task for those ****ty decisions.

We've seen how that arsehole we had against Spurs has been dealt with, he got a prime match next and now hes our next 4th official.

He is right though, i also think why should the West Brom manager be the only one, does this mean after every poor decision a manager gets an apology?

Surely it would be much better if we spent the time finding a way to improve the quality of managers.

First of all, agreed - i do love Mourinho as a manager in our league but he does go on and on at times.

In regards to the chief ref calling - why is he apologising? let the ref who made the mistake give them a call to apologise, I'm sure it will be more respected rather than 2 guys basically discussing how rubbish the ref was.

Secondly, there needs to be consistency with it, either everyone gets a call or no-one does. And it should either be done in complete confidence or fully transparent.

It all really does come down to, when can we offer the refs more support? they're working in very high pressure environments with a lack of support when making snap decisions not helped by people trying to fool him. Every ref makes mistakes and there's very few who are regarded as 'top refs' - this demonstrates its a very hard job - we need to make it easier.

Didn't Steve Bruce also claim the ref's chief rang him over the Elmo penalty?

I think referees should be interviewed after the game. People would be able to hear their side of the argument then and if they had made a mistake they could own up to it. People would be more sympathetic then and they wouldn't be so hated.

A takes a certain type of person to become a top class referee.

They like to be hated. It's all part of the 'control and power' they have.

You've all fallen for his absolute premium management technique - taking the attention off his players and putting it on to himself.

Instead of talking about how ****e Chelsea played against WBA, you're all talking about him.

It works as well. Everyone's forgotten about Cech's equally bad howler. I'm guessing he didn't phone Jose to apologise either!

Some clearly do, but the better ones are a bit above that IMO.
