-ENrique out long term with a knee injury and is unfortunately showing he may be a bit of liability. -Cissokho on loan but needs to step his game up if he wants to stay. -Johnson can play there but for me, I prefer him at RB. With all this being said, who would you play there/buy to fill the LB position? Would you stick with Cissokho? Invert Johnson again? If you have a LB in mind who would it be? Wouldn't mind seeing Alex Sandro or danilo brought into the club ( either danilo- Udinese or Porto).
Yes. Can we recall him? Same goes for Wisdom (and move Johnson over) However, if Kelly is fit then I'd go with him.
Ya, but he is championship standard for me. Doing relatively well for Blackpool but think that is him though. Lb is and has been a sore spot ever since the Riise, Aurelio days.
Cant recall Wisdom, hes helping Derby Kelly fit? Whats going on with him? Why cant he get fit enough to start a game!
Cissokho is the most experienced to play LB after Enrique so I would stick with him. Also, he won;t be playing as a wing back this time around so this may suit him a lot better.
Thankfully we have some versatile defenders, Sahko, Agger and Johnson can all play LB. It also solves one of our CB problems if we play either Sahko or Agger in at LB.
about to say same thing, dont have to now lol. depends if we want a player who specilaizes in that position or ones who can cover, if its just cover we already have that.
I'd go with Flanagan Think it does show we need to strengthen both full back areas though. Enrique when on form is very good, however he's picked up a nasty habit of getting injured recently. Cissoho has shown nothing as yet to warrant a permanent move. Johnson for all his good work going forward does have tendency's to switch off defensively. He's also 28/29 now? He's probably in his peak so will be going downhill and is also a very high earner so can see him being moved on shortly if we can get decent cover. Problem is, we only really have 2 players that are 1st choice full backs, so if we were to get rid of one, we'd have to buy 2 to replace them, 1 for the first team and 1 for cover.
I thought at the beginning of the season " Brilliant; at CB you have Skrtel, Agger, Sakho, Toure, Illori and at RB JOhnson, Kelly, Wisdom and at LB Enrique, Cissokho, good a lot of cover" now with the way the backs, especially the left and right, getting injured we are short. Strange game sometimes. Wouldn't mind seeing Illori at RB, just to see him play.
why don't we take a chance on Mclaughlin, then maybe we wont need to worry about that position. also Ibe is a strong lad, why not try him LB like we did with Downing.
Ryan Bertrand we were in for him in the Summer but he had his eye on challenging Cole for his place. Mourinho didn't even give him a sniff when Cole was injured recently. Good in attack and defending, young so value for money and fits the owners criteria Mourinho doesn't want him. Ticks all the boxes for me. As for the short term Flanno has come in and done a job so we should stick with him in the team but imo as RB with Johnson at LB.
I thought Mclaughlin was a RB? He could do the job I'm sure but would prefer he has his debut in the right position so we would have to move Johnson to LB to give him a game.
