You know its not so much the name change that gets my goat but the way he says things like its my decision and if the fans don't like it they can get their money back and go watch rugby league!
Now if he had said this it might have gone smoother

To all faithful fans of Hull City
It has been brought to my attention that a change of name to Hull Tigers might bring in significant extra income into the club from foreign markets that would allow us to maintain our forward progression in the development of Hull City AFC.
I understand that some of our longer standing supporters might not like this change but I assure you I didn't make this decision without a lot of thought and think it is best for the club at this time.
If the change doesn't bring in the rewards projected then of course we can go back to Hull City AFC at a time in the future when it has proven to be the case.
I hope you understand my thinking on this matter and I apologise to any valued fans that might not like the change but its a business decision I feel I have to make.

    Yours sincerely

    Dr Allam

I should be his PR officer :)

I don't seem to remember it used in his previous statements or by any city fans acknowledging him this way either, could be wrong though

How many times did club statements refer to Dr Bamby when they sacked him?

Welcome aboard, and well said too.

I was thinking of starting a "What good has Dr Allam done for Hull" but decided it would only be inviting abuse.

Hopefully this thread won't descend in the usual manner, and we won't see the usual suspects with their own agendas attempt to hijack it to bad mouth our benefactor, but at least if it does, and people start posting stuff nothing to do with it, our awesome mods will sort them out.

No, No, No! There has been a multitude of foul and abusive posts on this forum over the last couple of days that completely disregard anything of what he has done for the club.

Even now there are people questioning whether he deserves the title of Dr!! Like anyone gives a shyte!

I dont think anyone ever 'bad mouthed' him save for on 2 issues - the way he handled the sacking of Barmby and this. Two things that were easily avoided - sack Barmby in a way more befitting and dont spunk 109 years of history down the toilet on a pure ego trip.

Done - nobody 'bad mouths' him anymore.

So why do you think they do it now for Allam? Couldnt possibly be both ego and trying to make him seem more distinguished than he is to add weight to his argument, could it....?

Some people disagree with his stance on the stadium; personally I wouldn't want a debt free public asset handed over for free to a private company who would immediately plunge it into significant debt.

I think that's the icing on the cake.

Whether he is right or not in what he is doing, he is doing it because he is concerned about how much money he and his family are having to fork out to keep the club at the level it is at (see last season's accounts) and he wants to explore other avenues of income so that his family can be free form further loss.

**** me, you'd have thought he was a demi god & not a chairman of a football club.

When he's next seen at meetings do you have to stand and applaud him until he tells people to stop?

I echo the Tigers2008 post, my father was a staunch 'Tigers' supporter and I can't ever remember him referring to them as City it was always the Tigers. He first took me to see his idols in 1950 and I have been a Tigers supporter ever since, it is only in relatively recent times that people have referred to them as City!
His wish was to visit Highbury one day and see the Tigers beat the Gunners, how lucky are we to be supporting them in the position that they are in today which if you think carefully about this is down the Allams.
