This is my first post on here. I have been a regular visitor to the site for only a relatively short time but have supported âThe Tigersâ for 63 years since my Dad first took me to a reserve game at the age of 5. This forum seems to have been taken over by dinosaurs, unwilling to embrace change and not knowing on which side their bread is buttered. Over the years, we have witnessed very little success, now we have an owner who has put his money where his mouth is and is exploring all avenues to try and extend the current purple patch in the clubs long history. I for one wish him well and hope that he is successful in his quest. In my opinion he certainly does not deserve the insults cast in his direction on this forum.
I'll be honest, it's not a great start. If you're looking for access to the clique, well.... please log in to view this image
Welcome aboard. Contrary to what some claim, all views are welcome to be debated. Trying to avoid the blame game etc, but I think you'll agree that on the field, these are excellent days, and Mr Allam should be aplauded for bringing in and backing Steve Bruce. I think, no matter which side of the issue you sit, you'll agree that off the field, there are some issues, with both parties feeling that the other is insulting them? If that is the case, if you were Mr Allam, how would you resolve the apparent ill feeling?
Nice to see someone else using this forum who appreciates what our owners have done for us. I, also am a long term supporter, maybe a little bit longer than yourself. A word of advise. however ! Expect to be abused on this forum from- quite a few areas- by people who don't share your views ! You're expected to" toe the line" and stop thinking for yourself ! BEWARE.
If you post something that you know people will disagree with then expect to defend your views, nothing wrong with that, its how a debate works.
I'm happy for people to share alternative views, and I'm happy to listen to their reasoning. I would be happy to listen to Mr. Allam's reasoning in support of the name change but unfortunately he hasn't offered any. If he can give any evidence of a name change bringing in more revenue than a non name change I would support the decision. If he changes the name and the club becomes self sufficient financially as a result I will happily admit I was wrong. Change is fine by me, my own business has changed dramatically in the 24 years I have been in business. Unfortunately, change for the wrong reasons with no planned out strategy, and at the expense of loyal customers, is simply counter productive and ends up costing money.
What a strange thing to say that the people who are against changing the name of the club don't appreciate what Dr Allam has done , we are trying to stop him making a mistake
Even the official club statements are using that title It's only a recent thing too, is the power going to his head?
