Seems strange to me that Mabon overlooks asking about Dexter in the conversation yet he has time to confirm all testamonies...not a supermod opinion here but a natural human response...seems like absolute bull to me.

I don't think so brb, if Mabon has heard a member has met them, then he will ask him, not necessarily asking him about dexter in the process. Not all of us are as interested to know who Dexter is as others.

I suspect he'll say he knows nothing about him. Swanselona - I think the Dexter question is pretty fundamental don't you? This is a guy who has apparently played us all for fools - or at least tried to. How do you explain away an identical IP with posts appearing so closely together?

brb as i have said earlier i will speak to Dill today and get back to the forum, now while you are on the forum you banned me off the cardiff board a few weeks for allegedly wumming, now as you are aware Simply posh has spent a great deal of her time wumming on this forum over the last day or 2, now i have spoken to valley who says wumming will not be tolerated on this forum but has refused after many requests by myself to take appropriate action, as a super mod can you tell me if you will be taking the appropriate action against posh, rules are rules brb don't you agree

As some of you may know I'm a mod for the Leicester board - I also like to visit other boards including both Swans and Cardiff and have enjoyed the banter on each (whilst avoiding some of the politics)...

... sometimes it's easier for an 'outsider' to answer questions rather than someone actively involved as brb and Posh were - so I'll endeavour to answer a couple that Knackered has raised, not least because personally I think they deserve to be answered.

1) The supermods had suspicions about the nominations of KDA and Dexter but initially these were just that, suspicions - i.e there were shared IP addresses but it is possible to have shared IP addresses and yet be individual users - e.g a shared computer at a school, university. library, internet-cafe (has happened previously) so whilst it was prudent to reject the mod nominations at that stage they still needed time to pull together the 'evidence' of a collaborative attempt by a small group with a possible agenda to get one (or two) of their own in as a mod.

I know it's easy after the event and all that, but the support for Dexter (a relative newbie with, let's face it - not that many posts) seemed to be based primarily on him being the most 'polite' poster ever to have inhabited the Swans board - phrases including 'polite' were used in some abundance by his nominators ...

KDA had recently been banned - not much more to say there (other than an observation that being 'polite' was therefore not one of his positive attributes ) but KDA also had a shared IP address with Jackcymraeg, who had almost simultaneously arrived out of nowhere encouraging an exodus to a new exciting board where Swans could live in harmony without 'outside interference' ... again 'tho, a shared IP address might not mean that KDA and Jaclcymraeg were one and the same - but approval as a mod not likely to happen either (certainly not without further investigation)..

Eventually the group shot themselves in the foot with the thread that Posh shared ... Dilly, 'Dexter' and 'Dreyfus' posting from the same IP address in a 15 minute spell - 3 individuals all in the same location taking quick turns? - or one guy with identities? ... this was compounded by the rather bizarre thread started by the 'hurt and misunderstood' Dexter 'politely' requesting a form of non-Swans ethnic cleansing whilst he had time to reflect on his deep hurt, consider his future and whether it was all worth it etc etc ...

3) You are right Knackered - there is nothing to stop someone setting up a new account with a new device ... but that in itself causes little problem (apart from perhaps being an annoying poster) - it's only when someone seeks (and obtains) mod status that it's a problem - because you can then get access to personal data such as e-mail addresses. That's why, IMHO, new mods need to have served an apprenticeship as a poster and have recommendations that go beyond just their immediate mates - particularly if those mates have a shared IP address!

Now I wasn't party to all the decisions and all the detail - so really I've just given my thoughts and observations - but hope this gives a bit of perspective and perhaps some clarification on certain points that were shrouded in confusion?

One way of checking, if BRB and Minxy can for that matter, is check posts around that time, if there are posts such as

Dilli
Dreyfus
Dexter

Then as mentioned there is an astronomical chance that when Dill and Dreyfus turned off their internet, Dexter turned on his internet to receive the same IP. Which even in that case, I would still call bullshit.

Now if the posts go like this

Dilli
Dreyfus
Dexter
Dilli
Dexter

Where they cross each other in a short time frame, then this is a sure fire way to prove they are using the same location without a shadow of a doubt. As there would be no way for Dilli to turn his off, Dexter to turn his on, then off, dilli to turn his on, then off again, for dexter to turn his on, and all have the same IP address.
