Apologise to the genuine swans on here who have felt confused by what has happened in the last couple of weeks & couldn't find the truth amongst all the different pieces of imformation they were being fed by many folk with different agendas, some of whom they trusted & others who they weren't sure about

I can only guess that those reading either tried to figure stuff out for themselves, felt angry/frustrated with me thinking I was laughing at them or saw an opportunity to muddy the waters & discredit me further

Welcome to the world of trying to super-mod a forum full of people who have hidden agendas.

Brb & I try to navigate through loads of conflicting information to try to keep the site a safe & good place to visit.

Recently a new site opened, 1 swan mod decided to resign because they wanted to concentrate on the new forum & another cos he was sick of all the hassle he was getting & was exhausted & frustrated by a seemly impossible task.

Dexter was offered as an alternate mod & the super-mods needed to decide if we could be certain he was a genuine poster with the good of this site in mind. This would give him access to IP address of all posters on this site. This is information that might be very useful to say a new super-mod on another site.

I remembered the first time I noticed Dexter was when I banned Dilli ..... I checked his IP address & he only had one at the time & found it was shared with Dilli& Drefus. I then started to watch some of his posts & saw that he was interested in who this Dilli was ..... a tad surprising seeing as he had posted from a shared IP address. He was by then posting through a proxy as was D & D

When he was proposed as mod, brb & I then had to trawl though loads of information to prove I had been correct. Once we rediscovered the link & looked at timings/devices used etc a pattern emerged which appeared to link Dilli & Dexter. Dilli was previously relieved of his mod ship on here for misbehaving .... I don't know why as it was before my time. Dilli as new super mod elsewhere appeared to be trying to get access to the mod board again

With this information to go on ..... we turned Dexter down. Sorry to leave you to flounder for a while but we work on very little information too & have to try & figure it out for ourselves.

If you now look back at yesterday ..... I came out looking bad when all I'm genuinely trying to do is help brb keep this site safe...... people with other agendas moved in to discredit me ..... have a re-read with that in mind & see who is out to get me a reputation for being manipulative & a **** stirrer

If we had given you all this info the start with ..... others wouldn't have shown their agendas so clearly.

So make your own minds up as to my intentions & if I have lost my credibility on here I will be certain not to super-mod the swans board in the future ..... brb can have you meaning less hassle for me

Started to read that lot about the 8 o'clock mark last night and gave up without a comment. Looked at it again this morning and can't understand how you allowed it to go on for so long.

In all honesty Minxey, I think you did more harm than good going down that route. Maybe sounded like good fun, but it set many a Jack poster against each other whilst the real culprit(s) dissappeared.

Having said that, the bottom line is that you and brb have taken a very responsible position toward the safeguarding of this forum in the interests of both its' owners and members. You should be applauded for your dilligence in investigating the mod applicants and their reasons for doing so.

Sorry that I had to use the word "dilligence there" - when I started to type it, I nearly had deja vu.....

This eventual revelation also explains why brb joined in the piss-taking on that thread started by Dexter - he obviously knew who the tart was.

 

I'm not sure the games did any good either, BUT after wasting their time trying to get to the bottom of such a childish pathetic scheme who can blame BRB and Posh for having a bit of fun.

I agree Sparkey. I can understand the frustration of the supermods, particularly when most of us criticised their decision, with some being openly abusive, but it's been handled really badly ever since. The 'bit of fun' Minxy was having last night turned into a ****storm and as I predicted caused yet more harm. I Pm'd her asking her why and got the reply "Why what?" yet it was pretty obvious what I was asking and this thread appears this morning.

Modding is a tedious and thankless task. Multiply that numerous times if you're a supermod. But perhaps Minxy you can answer these questions:

1: Why didn't you just tell everyone why KDA and Dexter were refused right at the outset? We'd have backed you 100%. Others "not showing their agendas so early" doesn't make sense to me. If the evidence was strong enough it would stand up.

2: Why did you feel the need to cause mayhem on here last night? It stopped being 'fun' after an hour. There was no need for it and you ran the risk of turning decent posters against you. I've always liked you even before you became supermod but even my patience was wearing thin. Wummers like Mabon that we've had to endure over these past few days will only be emboldened by what happened and you've made a rod for our backs.

3: Lastly, what steps can be taken to prevent those who have used multiple accounts in order to further their own ends from coming here? There's nothing preventing them opening up a new identity.

Let's hope we can now put all this behind us. Footy at Fulham on Saturday and I'm going!

 

Well after all the surreal going-ons of yesterday I'm glad it's finally over. Wasn't sure whether I was part of The Matrix or in the Twilight Zone! Still not too sure with Eric around

I read all that yesterday, thanks. I'd honestly like to know your opinion, as in a factual statement, not innuendo, as to what you think is really going on.

If my head was "up her ass" I wouldn't be criticising her would I? Think about it. Look, we've all had to make up our own minds about recent events and effectively choose who we believe. This then will have an effect on where we post from now on. If you apply logic there's only one decision. A long post, sorry but stay with me.

Firstly, Minxy has always been a well respected poster even before her Supermod role. I read a lot of her posts on the Cardiff board and occasionally here too. She never had a history of causing problems or of being 'difficult'. I still strongly criticise her for last night but that's another story.

Compare that with Dilli who as mod had to be sacked because he stirred up problems - particularly on the QPR board where he actually urged Aber to cause mayhem on their board. I've had him on Ignore more than once though ironically have got on better with him recently.

So who do we believe on the IPs used by Dex? Two possibilities. Minxey has made that up or she's spot on. Face facts. There had to be a reason why KDA and Dexter were refused roles as mods. It was completely unexpected and most of us were gobsmacked weren't we? Something must have been in the wind that we didn't know about - until now. Remember, people don't get turned down for no reason.

Lastly, there is no motive that Minxey or anyone else would have to fabricate this story. It doesn't make sense to me. Why would she denigrate Dilli in that way out of the blue unless there was some truth in it? Also, it would be completely out of character for her. In fact, I recall Dilli actually posting glowing comments about Minxey recently re her supermod role so their relationship was very good. A lack of motive it seems, Dr Watson.

So sorry and all that. I'll continue to be loyal to this forum - warts and all. I really don't want to belong to a forum where the supermod has tried to hoodwink me with a fake ID - but more importantly I don't want to be on an all-Swans forum. Part of the enjoyment here is discussing games with opposition fans. Even those up the M4.

But you've said your goodbyes twice now. Time to call it a day don't you think and leave those that have made their decision in peace.
