Like many here, I live abroad so that makes getting to games difficult. I get to some games every season though, without fail. This year it will be Cardiff away and Villa home. And I'm proud to say that my bairn, who has never even lived in the UK, is as daft a fan as me and will be with me for the games
Thinking about it I can't remember the last time I saw us win in person. Maybe I'm a jinx haha Think it might have been when we beat Chelsea 3-0 at the bridge Since then I've seen us lose at Fulham, draw at home once vs Newcastle and lose another, lose at Arsenal, lose at Chelsea, concede a last minute equaliser at Southampton and then lose at Palace 7 games in the last 2 and a bit seasons (might be more can't fully remember) and I haven't seen us win a single bastard game
occasionally I can get to a game my son has been more than me so far this season- for me it usually depends on work schedule & finances
I was back for Arsenal at home, West Brow away and the derby ........... I'll be back for Villa, Chelsea and Spurs. If I can find decent flights I'll be back for the 1/4 final. Not bad going from 1000 miles away I reckon.
phwoar, if your run of good fortune for us continues in the cup we have a semi final!! argh Very good, I struggle from London
Have you ever made the trip by train mate? was led to believe the service was pretty fast to London and compares favourably in price to flights
The train from Nice goes to Paris, then it's a train to London then another train to Nottingham then a train to Mansfield at which point I'd drive up with my sons ............ it would be a costly nightmare. For the last derby I flew to Stansted, train to Nottingham and picked up by one of the lads. For the 3-0 derby I was in Tuscany ....... I left our lass, drove to Anghiari, took the train to Pisa and the flight to Luton, hired a car and drove to Mansfield. We drove up the next day and arrived in Newcastle for breakfast before drinking in the town. Walked to Central Station and joined the convoy to the ground. Worth every penny
Fingers crossed fella. Not going to have my lass with me for Quarters, hope she doesn't jinx it for you by not being there.
remember looking at internet adverts recently that a by TVG/Eurostar - train return trip Nice- London for around a £100 mark thought at the time it was pretty reasonable
Doesn't work out that way mate ......... they shove all kinds of extras on. Then you end up in London with a train journey that costs more than the trip from Nice. My flights for the Villa/Chelsea/Spurs games were £40 each to Stansted and takes less than 2 hours.
fair do's you cannot complain at that price ... tbh I've always liked trains myself- ever since I done the Inter-rail ticket whole 'Europe in a Month' trip during my teens many years ago
Try to get to games when I can but staying in Weegieland cost is an issue so are shifts work as a nurse but watch games on line when not working
I live in the Midlands now, so don't often get to home games. I'll go to any away games that are within about 80 miles of me. Already got my tickets for Stoke and Villa, and hoping for a local-ish cup game or two.
