Couldn't agree with this more strongly. You have shown real class throughout this campaign. You have been let down badly by some who have actually lost you support by their aggressive and abusive attitude both on this board and when swearing at people who didn't want to take leaflets. Personally I don't want a name change, but also don't want to be attacked or vilified because I don't feel it is the most important consideration the club is facing.
It's point scoring on a petty scale. You can imagine the scene at the CTWD "headquarters". "****... Allam has offered them a refund... No ****er will take him up on the offer and a full-house will allow him to claim victory". "I know... let's claim it was our idea all along.... lets issue a communication demanding that supporters go and support the club at the weekend"
Some people seem extremely sensitive about people they feel are being overs-sensitive. I see opinions being debated, if you feel you're being personally vilified, hit the 'report' button and a mod will consider it. For those saying there's bias, any actions by the mods are viewable by the board owner. If anyone is acting untoward, it will shine out to them and they'll act against the offending mod. They have no part in our issues.
I can assure you that everything at CTWD HQ is completely chilled, this has been the best week for us since the campaign started, the amount of emails of support has trebled in the past few days.
You are right, to a certain extent I was just playing Devils Advocate, but do remember that certain members of the CTID group were trumpeting the support they were getting from other clubs. You can't count just those Leeds Utd supporters who are on your side and then disregard those against you. You either include all or none.
....and I certainly won't continue attending matches because a joke of a campaign group says it OK for me to do so.
But you seem to feel that they will keep going because you tell them to. Why otherwise issue the statement you did?
Included in what is the key question. It's one thing to offer support to the campaign, but quite another to go beyond. Do you go hungry because you donate to support a charity?
Because email support is clearly the weapon of mass destruction that will leave Mr Allams plans in ruins.
There is a difference between a ballot of City supporters and broader support from other clubs. If the club was to organise a consultation or referendum I would expect it, as far as possible, to be limited to City supporters. I know you can't guarantee that but 20,000 season ticket holders would have more City fans than Leeds United. All a bit academic after today. Like others in the campaign I welcome support from other clubs, but that shouldn't be in any ballot of City supporters. I don't see that they have to be mutually exclusive. I hope that makes sense.
Guess what I'll be there on saturday supporting my team and protesting the name change , most ridiculous statement I've read for a long time from Dr Allam today , protesting about AFC because it was changed before the season started and now we have just found out ?? Somebody at the club needs to advise him because he is just throwing away so much good will from fans for no reason ( Pride ? Ego ? )
I'm sorry, I don't understand your reply. I may have missed a post it refers to, in which case my apologies.
Why do you keep going on about a ballot? There isn't going to be one. Why would Allam hold one when he doesn't have to.
