Joachim Low reveals Arsenal's Serge Gnabry could be Germany's surprise World Cup inclusion

GERMANY coach Joachim Low has admitted he is keeping an eye on Arsenal's Serge Gnabry with a view to including him in his squad for the World Cup at the end of the season.

Gnabry has so far only represented Germany at Under-19 level but has broken through into the Gunners first-team this season and has caught the attention of Low.

The Germans take on England at Wembley this evening with a wealth of midfield options that allows them the luxury of resting Arsenal's Mesut Ozil.

But Low has now admitted that he has left the door open for Gnabry to make it onto the plane to Brazil.

He said: "The boy is really good. He has exceptional qualities.

"I'm still open [to him making the World Cup squad]. We have an eye on him."

Gnabry captured Low's imagination when he and his assistant Hansi Flick travelled to watch Ozil play for the Gunners against Swansea at the end of September.

Later on in the article, Wenger expresses a lot of praise for Gnarby. Is this guy the real deal or are people getting a little carried away. From what I've seen of him he looks like genuine quality.

Can't see it happening this time, not unless he suddenly gets a load of game time for Arsenal but Wenger doesn't seem to trust him in the premiership yet

In international football, even more so than club football perhaps, you want to keep the conveyor belt moving, so that you always have players coming through. At least 2 or three players do not play that much at these tournaments, and it is a good idea to use these spots to give young players a chance to experience the tournament.

If we can give him game time, then i don't see why he shouldn't make it, as SJW said, the kid's the real deal.

Massive incentive for Gnabry this season and I think Wenger will give him the opportunity through the season to prove that he's worth Germany taking him to the World Cup. This is good news for Arsenal <ok>

Can't see it. Germany have such a strong squad, I think it'll be a bit too soon for the lad.

Agreed. I think Gnarby looks to have a lot of potential but Germany has buttloads of young attacking midfielders who are getting games in the Bundesliga. Off the top of my head, I can think of Draxler, Reus, meyer, bittencourt and there is probably a dozen more.
