Can see some merit in that DL. Cuts down on our forward options though. I suppose it depends on how positive MP wants to be away to the top side.
I can't see that happening. As Mauricio says, we play our own gamwe, it is up to the opposition to stop us doing so. We defend from the front as well. We don't alter it to defend deeper. I think it will be same as last outings as Lamballana has put.
Just done a nice bit on Sky about us showing a few goals, our lads with England and interviews with fans and ex-players (Benali and Armstrong). Finished by saying that we beat Liverpool and drew at Old Trafford, so look out Arsenal.
Arsenal 0-2 Southampton, with Saints going top of the league after a 1-1 draw in the Merseyside Derby. The media then go into over-drive as Southampton sit top of the Premier League after a third of the season has passed.
Anyone who is left, just before the atmosphere is finally stripped away, can be heard muttering... if only this could happen in a year's time..? They'd be European Champions too..!
For the dear pessimists that inhabit this forum: we're 12 points above the relegation zone with 4 tough games to come! For me: Arsenal will be blown away - we're not 3rd for nothing 0-3
Well done, Pepys. I love all this positivity. It doesn't affect the result one jot, so go for it. I've no doubt Saints will.
One thing we don't do is "nick it" We normally have the bulk of possession, dominate the game and win by 1 or 2 goals when it should have been more apart from Hull when it still could have been more. I think this will be a very hard game for us and if we do win it will be because we deserve too. "Nick It" we will not!
Has to be the same team which beat Hull for me. You have to be positive like we have been all season and not bring in players deemed more disciplined because Arsenal will just destroy us like last season where I remember Kiran Gibbs was camped in our half. Its going to be a tough match but I think we have to get at that soft Arsenal underbelly(especially minus Flamini). A couple of early hits from Wanyama would do nicely
Trouble is playing Hull at SMS is one thing but table topping Gunners at The Emirates will pose slightly greater challenge and we need to react to that threat. They will try and pass through our middle and we need to make sure they can't. Another central midfielder for me then if needed we can bring on JRod later on if we need the chase the game or force the win.
Well we played table-topping Liverpool pretty effectively. Anyone playing through our middle as-is suffers for it, top of the table or no. Vin
