I didn't say it was. My point is that the owner can announce every game as a virtual sell out and circumvent any claims that people are boycotting the games.
He doesn't need your consent. He owns the club. What he is saying, is if you don't like it don't go. Simple really. He thinks he might lose a couple of hundred fans. CTID think he'll lose 5,000. I think he'll lose about 20, of whom you are one. Guess we'll find out soon who is closest to the real figure.
That sounds to me like you also think only a few will stay away. I doubt if any Allam Marine customer would start campaigning if they changed their name. So my point remains. Who are you to tell him he can't change the name of a business he has paid to save. I also doubt that any Allam Marine customers will call him a **** in the press, but if they did I suspect their business relationship would end quite quickly.
There is a difference between 'business' and 'football club'. Sadly your head is so far up AA's arse you can't grasp that idea.
So that's the choice is it? Accept a change or stop coming? **** him. This is our club, he is merely the current chairman. I can't believe how he is willingly grasping ****ness from adulation. Surely it makes more economical sense to latch onto our city of culture award.
He is very cunning, he knows that people go to the game to support the team and the manager. We have done that for years regardless of who the owner is. He is banking on people NOT asking for their money back so he can claim victory. Well I have today written to him to say that I will still be going to the games BUT I do not support the name change. I also pointed out that it was the City of Hull that won the bid and the City of Hull will now be known globally and bring more money into the CITY. How about others also writing to him. I cannot and will not let him count me as one of the "don't cares" or the "for the name change" just because I choose to support the team who are still Hull City.
FFS do some of you get reduced admission. This is like listening to a school kid who is heart broken. They have little life experience and do not know the pain will pass.I do not know if they still publish Jackie but maybe a letter to their agony aunt might help some of our more distraught members.I repeat this is not a serious illness or bereavement. I can still remember the pain when Puff Diddy changed his name!
If we sell out against Stoke City does that mean the FA agree the fans have been consulted is the question. Assem Allam can say what he wants for as long as he likes the only people who matter will be the FA committee that considers his application. By then they will be well aware that I continued to watch Hull City and oppose the name change. It really isn't difficult, is it?
Surely even a sell out would show less than 1% support? The Stadium's empty the other 160 odd hours a week, never mind faffing about with how many games we play in a year.
This appears to be getting a bit silly. FFS peeps, calm down. I don't think any of us will be handing our passes in will we as we are supporters, fans. Everyone does have a right to their opinions, to air them on here or similar forums. Some people have taken their campaign to the streets, papers, media. Each to their own. For my twopenneth, Mr Allam dragged our beloved club out of the brown stuff. He persuaded Brucey to come to Hull who in turn has persuaded others to follow suit. Does this give Mr Allam the right to play with our club like he's playing Fifa Manager 2013 (or similar, you catch my drift?). Probably not, no. But he appears to be a sound and intelligent buisnessman which has/will give us stability for the future. Whether you support the name change, despise it or simply don't care, I do think Mr Allam deserves a little more respect than some appear to be offering. I await responses of being acussed of being up his ****, being a plastic or something along those lines. For the record, I'm not overly keen on the name change however I will continue to support the black and amber boys until the day I die. Thank you.
Not seen this mentioned yet But the name change takes away our famous old pub quizz question Which team's name can't be filled in? Hull tigers takes that away too **** off
I sort of agree with you or rather I did but I'm starting to get a bit hacked off at Mr Allam's cavalier attitude with our football club. You have to give him credit though, as he now has most of us right where he wants us, as he knows that most supporters and certainly most season ticket holders are going to need more than a ridiculous change of name to stop us going to watch the team we've invested a large chunk of our lives and a not insignificant sum of money in, if not £66 million or whatever!
Would you respect somebody who lied to you on near enough a daily basis and then also tried to alienate you?
I think CTWD have been more than respectful to Allam. In fact, I think at times they have even blown smoke up his arse. Then he tells them one thing, and does the total opposite. What does that tell us? That's right, he can't be trusted, he's a liar and has treated them with contempt. He deserves to be abused.
1. The man is a liar who has either willingly misled or blatantly, outright lied to City fans on more than one occasion; 2. He has admitted to the CTWD group that his main reason for changing the name is 'not wanting Hull City Council to bask in our glory' And yet you still don't think it's worth protesting. It beggars belief, it really does. at us respecting him...
