Dont think GFH denied it, just that they had told them no and then laughed at the derisory offer. There may be more going on behind the scenes, but the cheif going into print can only be to put pressure on GFH because he knows the fans would welcome it.

However Pearson and Lucas and whoever else are only offering £7m which does nothing other than buy them some shares in the club. GFH will not sell any shares unless its at a big profit and that wont happen.

"I can confirm that I am part of a consortium which has submitted a preliminary indication of interest regarding the acquisition of a stake in Leeds United Football Club."

Doesn't sound like an offer to me......

Makes no sense to me this because why would at least 5 blokes want to form a consortium and only be able to afford 25% of the shares. That makes each of these blokes, (and I bet theres more in the wings) having 5% each. They are not able to do anything as they would be minority shareholders even if they vote or act on block, they are still unable to do anything. So why would these blokes risk a lot of cash for no results. The cash they buy the shares with goes into the pocket of Noodles, not into the clubs playing staff. So this can only unsettle the club, unless they are trying to assemble a pitch for the majority of the shares and that means they need a lot more than £7m.

The thought of having this Legend associated with the club in any capacity, is fantastic news and would be welcome by me and all LUFC fans throughout the world....I am happier if he returns in a board room role , more than a coaching capacity as with previous players in years gone by, it has proved that it can destroy their Legendary status at the club.

However with his many years operating in a Ambassador role in football in particular South Africa has highlighted his obvious commercial acumen and to combine that with his love for the Club & Fans, I say get him in the boardroom as soon as we can....he will be the most positive link between the two for many years. If you look at similar scenarios with the likes of Niall Quinn at Sunderland, I think this could materialise to be similar with a medium to long term plan for Lucas to become Chairman !!!

This will be interesting to watch unfold, especially as i believe GFH have put a lot of hard work into the club and I think they genuinely love the club. They have certainly brought some decency and clarity back to the club, whilst always being business men and investment Bankers.....its a business at LUFC and these Directors like any Directors will never do Owt For Nowt !!! Marching On Together !!

I don;t see a reason why this is a LUST v GFH issue anymore on here. GFH don't seem to feel it has put any pressure on them or maligned them (according to GC of course, and according to their lack of statement otherwise - ergo, I could be talking bollocks, but that's not a surprise and is little different from most other posters on this site)

I don't think anyone lied at all in any of this. £7m is a serious bid, according to one, a preliminary indication according to another, and "not serious" according to another. It's just interpretation of the amount, that's all. No need for people to get uppity on their side of the argument.

On Lucas - maybe he could be our goalkeeping coach.

Would I want Lucas on the board? Not sure. Someone said he was bankrupt, but I've not seen that proof. Does he bring any particular administrative skills? Does he have Director-level expertise? Will he help? No doubt in some ways, but I just don't know enough about what he has been doing since leaving english football to make any judgment.

Would I want Pearson back? Not sure, does he really bring anything? He could be great. Or he could be GFH.

Would I want LUST on the board? No thanks.

Have GFH done anything really wrong so far? I wouldn't say so.

Do I care? yes and no. I am pretty sure that GFH are keeping the club running in a financially controlled manner, but we all know their parent company has major cashflow/debt problems. If that goes into admin, so do we. So they are looking for profit, not loss, out of LUFC especially as they valued it in the £88m bracket (or something like, if I remember right) in their last accounts. Can anyone verify?

What does this new consortium bring? Local people and those with a clear association with the club. Could be good, could be bland, could be awful. You never know until you jump.

All in all, I have the feeling that Nooruddin and Haigh like control of LUFC, and would only relinquish it if the offer was substantial in their eyes. But again, I could be talking bollocks - like most others on here

The plan as outlined brings zero investment to the only thing that matters. The cash is purely for some gfh shares and they would pocket that and we would have even more fingers sharing our pie. It's a crap proposition for supporters.

And here is my difficulty with LUST and GC ... I have a BIG problem with LUST always "revealing" things that have fcuk all to do with them ... as Lucas says "We hope to continue our recent discussions confidentially with the current shareholders and the Board" ... CONFIDENTIALLY!!! Why? Because the moment Lucas' interest is known, it alerts other potential investors who could come in with a better bid and freeze Lucas out completely .... GC doesn't ever THINK anything through, he just opens his mouth at every opportunity ... "Look at me, I'm ITK" ... well, Mr Cooper, I'd be very surprised if people trusted you in the future with sensitive information ... maybe the consortium asked you to leak the news, I doubt it though ... I just wish that business like this could happen quietly and be announced when the deal is done.

This **** has to stop, too many heads getting involved and it will end up messy.

Lucas.......we loved you as a player, dont loose that from the fans, i hope i am wrong but he may be getting used as a puppet.

LUST........do us all a favour and fooook off.

Does this lot realise that things like this can disrupt all the work that has been done up to press, i personally believe that GFH have laid good foundation stones that will allow the club to build a secure future.

    FFS lets ..... MOT

I really cannot do with all this crap
