That's a new low, even for you. Assem Allam would never dare say things like he has to Allam Marine customers, he knows he'd lose them. He knows with football fans, he can chuck out any **** he likes and their allegiance to their club will keep them coming. It says nothing about the support, or lack of, for the name change, as well you know.
This is his consultation with the fans. CTWD asked for a vote for season ticket holders, he's offing this now. I know it's clever on his side but I recon this will do for the name change to go ahead as he will have gone above and beyond (refund) what they require. The small loss he is likely to make will be covered with new sales next year
He could simply make the referendum on how much Hull Tigers tat he shifts relative to Hull City AFC products. Win win, he ups his sales, club gets money, we get a referendum.
Indeed. My season card says Hull City on it, and I will follow my team as faithfully as I have for the last 47 years. That name has been the only constant throughout those years, at this point in time I honestly don't know whether I will be there next season. If Mr. Allam can treat someone who has been a passholder every season for well over thirty years with such utter contempt, I do not want to give him one penny.
Assam, the reason I'm not refunding my season pass is not because I support thr name change but because I want to support the club and team that I've loved for over a decade But ofcourse you know this, and know full well fans won't get rid of theirs Its a football club that we've long followed before you turned up and long will after You utter prick
I have 48 years service. If you regard this as so important you must have had a great life. This is a f-all petty squabble.Nobody is dying or losing their house. The club is not closing or being thrown out of the league. This is getting well out of hand when blokes like bcc are feeling they must stay away.
Why Hull City fans should reject Dr Allam’s cheap and disgusting ultimatum Having promised Hull City fans that he would research the market to discover any value in changing the club’s name to ‘Hull Tigers’ and then changed his mind, the club’s owner Dr Assem Allam has now decided that consultation with the fans is unnecessary too. Dr Allam told campaign group ‘City till we die’ at a recent meeting that he would carry out the market research he should have done before he started the process of re-branding. When questioned by BBC Radio Humberside’s Amanda White last week about what this market research would entail, he ranted that no-one is allowed to question his business decisions. When asked by ‘City till we die’ in their latest press release to fulfill his promise of wider consultation, Dr Allam responded in the Hull Daily Mail. ‘There’s no need for a referendum,’ he said. ‘The crowd we get inside the stadium is the perfect referendum. Fans can choose to vote with their feet. ‘If they are not happy, they can stay away. I am also willing to refund any unhappy season ticket holder who wants their money back.’ I can only assume that Dr. Allam considers this a very clever move. Who would give up a season ticket to watch a team in only their third ever Premier League season with games against Liverpool and Manchester United to come next month? It’s not going to happen, regardless of supporters’ feelings about the name change. Dr Allam presumably thinks he can now use this as evidence of the support for his idea. He estimates that support at around 98 per cent which begs the question as to why he’s avoiding a referendum in the first place? I beg to differ. It’s not a clever move, it’s a cheap and disgusting ultimatum. Dr Allam is asking people to choose between the team and the name. The team are wonderful. Steve Bruce has put together the best squad Hull City has ever had and people love watching them. I love watching them. I’ve been a fan since I was seven years old. I’ve had a season ticket for the last 13 years. I’ve loved them at the bottom of the Football League and I’ve loved them at the (joint) top of the Premier League. It’s tearing me apart, quite honestly. The thought of not watching my football team versus the thought of handing over my cash to the man who has no respect for its history and it’s place at the heart of our City of culture 2017! Most importantly, for the moment, its not a decision that needs to be made. We are still Hull City AFC. The Football Association and the Premier League will confirm as much. Nothing has changed except one man’s belief. You promised market research and wide-ranging supporters’ consultation, Dr Allam. No ultimatum changes that. http://metro.co.uk/2013/11/20/why-h...llams-cheap-and-disgusting-ultimatum-4194242/
I think those that decide to stop going are letting Dr. Allam win the argument; nobody in their right minds would believe a full stadium translates into a mandate for the name change. They should stay and fight, with dignity, for the club they love.
Couple of questions 1. Does the name change go ahead if we get relegated? 2. Would the PL/FA (who ever the decision maker is) back AA as they would not want a PL club to go into administration if AA pulled out due to the PL/FA verdict?
**** me, why is it only in Britain that idiots like you exist? He's lucky he's not owner of a Polish/Serbian/Russian club, or he'd have had his head cut off and stuck in the centre-circle on the end of a sharp stick. What has losing your house or dying got to do with it? This is a debate about a moronic and childish owner having a paddy and robbing us of our history in retaliation at / because of a council that don't give a flying **** about him or us, and it's being had in the appropriate context. What's that? Your son had his bike stolen? Oh who cares, it's not as if he lost his house or died. Hurr de ****ing durr.
Indeed you don't own a football club (as far as I know), but he does, and has spent a lot of money on it. Surely if a major sponsor wants to give a club a silly animal name, like Tigers or Cobras, they have some right to do so? Especially if the club then benefits from their largesse. For £7million you can call the West Stand the OLM stand as far as I'm concerned, if it secures Long or Defoe for us in January. Go for it, I'm sure you have the money.
