Watching Ukraine-France and there is little to choose between them. 60 mins gone and 0-0

There have been some robust challenges, but the ref is good.

Ukraine have just scored a scrambled goal to go ahead.

Sounded like a good performance from Iceland but I can't see them getting a result in Croatia.

We were robbed. Rúrik Gíslason was squashed in the penalty area at 84.mín. and we recieved nothing.

    Poor from France.

Saw lots of diving in the Portugal Sweden game and not much else..

Bad luck Iceland I guess but hopefully you can get an away goal.

As expected comments have been very harsh on the French team. The press have laid off a bit, saving their best shots for after the second leg I believe, but fan's have not held back at all. One translated post on a public forum goes as follows:

    Didier Deschamps: We must believe.

"Us, we do not believe. Unless he changes players. Too many blacks in the France team."

    Oh dear :(

Of course, you have to wonder what he/she would come out with if all those players were dropped, replaced with whites and the team started losing even more games & dropped right down the rankings.

Looking at their line-up last night at least 6 (so a majority) were white of which one got sent off.

You just have to hope whoever wrote that was drunk or not thinking straight.

Mind you have read Evra is very unpopular after his antics at the last World Cup - still no excuse for such comments though.

Since QPhaahah have slided GMTH hasn't been on here much...

On a different point, who do you want in the draw?

I'd love Brazil, England, Mexico and Japan as a group.

Plus, it Klinsmann turning the knife before the 'friendly' or just some home truths? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24948886

I think he has a point.

He is right. We need to be showing progression in every tournament to be taken seriously.

In terms of groups I think you can look at easier ones or one to whether the appetite. From the latter point of view getting Brazil for the opening game then Australia and Russia would be good.

I see Mexico are in pot 4 - regardl;ess of how they qualified i wouldn't want them in the group as they always seem to reach the 2nd round.

Cannot say that I have seen her. Most of the forecasts I watch have a delightful lady by the name of Marine.

I do not believe that her doing a naked forecast would be good for my health. <laugh>

Where is Sao Paolo? São Paulo is in Brasil. The BBC are repeating this increasingly lazy journalistic error.

I don't understand why Corinthians were given the matches in São Paulo. Estádio Cicero Pompeu de Toledo, or Morumbi, exists, has the transport, would only need cleaning up a bit and holds over 70,000 spectators even after the capacity has been reduced for modern safety reasons. I was in it with 105,000 others for the final of the Libertadores in 1992.

Arena Corinthians will hold less than 50,000 when finished. Another new stadium in São Paulo is Palmeiras' Allianz Parque which holds 45,000 for domestic football and less for FIFA games.
