I think you all know how I'd feel about him leaving. Gutted........not! Will he go though, to be a stand in for Messi?
If Barcelona came calling I'd be happy for him to go. That's a club. In fact it's mes que un club. When you go to Camp Nou and have a look around you realise that Barcelona is something that Fulham (and nearly all clubs, actually) could never be, no matter how successful Fulham might be it could never be anything like Barcelona. Being offered a place in that set-up is something that could never be turned down and I would never begrudge anyone for taking it. And I'm not even a Barca fan!!!
Happy to pay for one way ticket, that will solve the captaincy, attitude and team spirit problems all at once...
Yes, but... Berbatov leaving wouldn't necessarily solve the team spirit problem, though I can see how it's likely to improve things. It's only a good move if the right replacement is found, either in the transfer market or someone already at the club and ready to step up. I know Berba has been maddening this year, but let's not forget how good he was last season. His performances then leave a big hole to fill, it's just a shame that at the moment he's one of the people who are failing to fill it. I agree though, it might be best for all concerned if he moved on sooner rather than later. If we were to replace him with a hot young striker from the Championship (Rhodes? Ings?) and/or one or more of our youngsters (Chris David? Dembele?) it might be just what we need. Bent still has a role to play, I suspect, but without others to help him replace Berba we'll be looking short of numbers up front. Again.
This was supposed to be a big cartoon of a dog tricking a cat into going for a ride inside a dryer ... that's how I feel about Barcelona taking Berbatov off our hands. "oh please ... oh please"
Sweet! Nine million more 'likes' and I'll get a badge or something. I really hope we get rid of Berbatov ... The cliche "if something's 'too good to be true', it probably is" pretty well sums up the situation with Berbs. Credit where credit is due, I think we would have struggled much more last year without him. But I think he also brought a laissez-fair attitude and selfishness to a squad that was at one time a great team. I imagine having Nicolas Anelka on your team is much the same.
If, Barcelona want Berb, do you not thing we may be wrong to sell him on? Perhaps Barcelona know less than us eh!
Hopefully the rumoured interest will turn his head enough to put a shift in on Saturday. Here's a reminder of what he is capable of:
OK berbs was great last year ,but this season it appears he does not give a S..t,there seems to be an auora of complacency surrounding him,and as far as being captain, you need commitment and motivation, sadly lacking in this overpaid prima dona, a luxury while in our predicament we can ill afford. Yes in Jan go for one of the aforementioned championship proven scorers could not be any worse than B<B<R.
Every time he plays we have 9 outfield players rather than 10. He won't score 3 at the weekend as he's not getting in the right positions to do so.
