I actually think that Clichy would be a good signing for you. Firstly, you'll pick him up nice and cheap, and secondly, I believe he'd be more solid playing in your squad, because your midfield is far more defensively minded than Arsenal's, so he'll get the cover that he currently lacks at The New Library.
Evra has been absolute gash since the world cup when he turned his back on his country. Good player before that.
I'd have Clichy. At £5M for a proven Premier League left-back, that would be excellent business in my opinion.
Two options. Clichy £5 million,French International.£5 million. Jose Enrique.Non International.£15 million. Hmmmm.Which is the better option...Well it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out.Even David Beckham(no way a rocket scientist) could figure out which is the better deal.
Isn't clichy homegrown and with a fa cup medal? Or was he in the prem winning team too, think that might be a bit far back for him. If we get him for 5 that is top stuff I think, really good bargain for a player who ticks all the boxes and was being looked at by Madrid at one point!
yeah hes not bad for £5 mill got to be worth a punt esp as he has loads of premier league experience..rate him better than Enrique anyway.
I'm not 100% sure, but I think you're right,I'm 50/50 on it. This is my take on the home-grown set-up. If an overseas player is coached by an English club between the ages of 18-21,then that player is regarded as being home-grown. Well Clichy was 17 going on 18 in 2003 when Arsenal signed him.He was the youngest member of Arsenals unbeaten season. (He's 25 now),He would have been 21 in 2007.So by my estimation,He's homegrown.
Mickey Goldmill He also came out with this classic,I think its best used on Gary Neville. ''I think we should knock his block off''.
Arbeloa wasn't an international before we signed him, Dossena was. It means nothing in the grand scheme of things.
I agree. Wes Brown was an international and Lucas at one stage wasn't. So it does indeed mean nothing.I was refering moreso to the differences in price.I do believe if it comes down to ''value for money'',Clichy is ''better value for money'' than Enrique.
I have to agree; I rate Clichy over Enrique - and whilst they're both in their last 12 months, Clichy is going for 5m and Enrique is going for 10-13m.
Clicky for 5 mill would be an absolute bargain. Was only a year or so ago he was rated amongst the best in the world in that position. Yes please.
With the Clichy bid do you think that Enrique was a smokescreen, while secretly we were going after Clichy but putting out like we wanted Enrique? I mean the players we have been linked with such as Coentrao, Cissokho, Enrique, are 10+ then it seems we have made an offer for Clichy for 5? Behind closed doors dealings, finally!
Maybe just maybe. Jordan Henderson was the last midfielder that Liverpool were linked with, there has been talk for ages about Yann M'Vila and others. Could it be.and this is a hunch.Liverpool sign none of the players that they have been previously linked with ie Downing,Adam and Scott Dann?
