Gibraltar tonight, taking on Slovenia in their first game as a UEFA member. So...are they like, rivals or are England adopting a 'nawww, look at 'em go' approach? The stadium they're playing in (which is in Portugal) could hold their entire population with seats to spare, as their 5000 capacity international stadium isn't up to UEFA standards. Recognisable faces include former Tiger Scott Wiseman and Ex Stoke and Southampton midfielder Danny Higginbotham, who now turns out for Conference side Chester FC (bit of a drop...). Shall be watching that tonight.
That's an unbeaten start, can't knock them for that, especially given that 9/10ths of their first team are amateurs who get paid nothing.
And Southampton which is an even bigger drop than that A lot of Gibraltar's players play for Manchester United, just to make things even more weird. Plus that draw will take them above loads of other minnow countries in the world rankings.
I hope we draw the ****s in a qualifying group along with those heathens north of the border. Love a good proper derby game, and as Hull fans we only get to experience them with the England side.
