Without the name, is it still 'our' club?

Yes. This is the nearest Hull City AFC has ever been to no longer existing.

It's the Ulltras who suggested a protest that involved staying on the concourse until 19.04 minutes into the game, but not enough people will be willing to miss the first twenty minutes, so it simply won't work.

CTWD now has to prove that it has a great deal of support, the best way of doing this is to have a paid membership to CTWD, this will be launched online shortly.

There will also be a membership launch event ahead of the Stoke game, which will be attended by guest speakers and will have live music, full details of this will be given out at the Liverpool game.

There's plenty going on behind the scenes and there's plenty of time for us to build support, nothing can happen to our name until next year and we need proof that we're not a noisy minority.

You have to be taking the piss. Or you just choosing to ignore that time when we actually did cease to exist?

It really feels like people aren't willing to do very much at all in support of CTWD, yet you still claim to represent the majority, which is the bit that I don't understand. Without actual support, that's demonstrable, you're pissing into the wind.

Paid membership sounds like a good idea, providing the accounts and numbers are publicly available. Kudos for trying that as there's a real danger it could go against you, and I suspect setting up something like that involves some crappy regulations to adhere to, plus of course it's going to be VERY difficult to reach out to the entire fan base, which will of course make it even more difficult claiming to support the majority. Fair play for trying something like that though.

Didnt know you had to build support?? Why a paid membership a meeting at the park gates with 20.000 people there and you've done it. You're not taking him on because you know you dont have a mandate to speak for us all.
Guest speakers and live music, why not just hand out money for turning up?

No doubt Vinny will be plugging his new single and Tenfoot will be plugging his magazine?

Beware of any group you join, you never know what hidden agendas people have.

We have to prove support, rather than build it.

I'm at a loss to understand why anyone would put such glee into seeing this ridiculous idea implemented.

Why do you think I'm taking the piss? After Allam gets his way there will be no Hull City. I dont know why you cant see this.

You said "This is the nearest Hull City AFC has ever been to no longer existing."

No it isn't, we were actually close to not existing at all when Dr A saved the club. I'm trying to ignore the hysterics around a name change equaling the club disappearing, I don't why you seem blind to the fact we were on the brink of total disappearance and I REALLY don't get how you can compare a name change to actual disappearance for ever of the club.

I think it is a good idea to have a publicly visible way of showing support for the anti name change campaign. If you get a majority or even a significant minority to show they agree with you I will eat humble pie.
I think it is reasonable if you do not get mass support that it should at least be acknowledged by your group.

In answer to an earlier thread of course it will still be the club I support and I will call it whatever I like.I still call the Ganstead exactly that and my dad knows exactly where I mean.I know where Centre Bar still is even though it is closed down. Please understand most people do not give much of a **** about the name change because it really is not that important to them. They have the imagination to realise that **** happens and the secret to being a happy adult is to realise when stuff is truly important and when it is not.If the club closed down completely that would be very sad but I am certain a new set up would come along and I am guessing I know the colours they would play in and I think I know who would support them and what we would all call them.
The Philipines is a tragedy .This is not

What is Hull City if it's not the name? As far as I can see it's the only constant in our entire 109 year history.

Why would we want to take him on? Hull City Tigers Ltd have to apply to the FA to become Hull City Tigers or Hull City. As I've explained on many occasions the FA will vote on the application. They can vote yes or they can vote no. If they vote no we remain Hull City.

Becoming an organisation with members will give us people and funds to try and influence the outcome of the FA vote.

The strategy is perfectly clear. Which is why we have written to Assem Allam asking for a ballot of members. If he agrees we will help organise it if he wants. Maybe not as exciting as marching down Anlaby Road with a pitchfork but maybe more successful in the long term.

The ballot will be a clearer indication of how many people support the name Hull City and how many don't.
