Liverpool striker Luis Suarez to be rushed home for Merseyside derby in John Henry's private jet The Uruguay forward is being whisked back to England so he's John Henry will lay on his own private jet to ensure Luis Suarez is ready for take off at the Merseyside derby. The Liverpool striker was due to return to England on Friday from international duty - less than 24 hours before the bitter showdown with the club’s eternal rivals Everton. Suarez will lead his nation into a World Cup play off against Jordan in a game in Montevideo that doesn’t kick off until 11pm GMT tomorrow night. And that has prompted principal owner Henry to offer the use of his own plane, which will jet from his Boston home to South America to bring Suarez back to Merseyside a crucial day earlier. The striker has been in the form of his life since returning from a 10 match ban for biting , but even his avowed resilience will be put to the test in the heat of a Mersey derby, after flying 17,000 miles in less than two weeks for the two qualifiers. Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has explained how Suarez constantly amazes coaches by never seemingly affected by jet lag, but even he has concerns over the latest trip, and Henry’s offer of help should at least give him time to recover before the 12.45pm kick off on Saturday. The American owner has been thrilled by Liverpool’s start to the season, and he is desperate to maintain their successful run, to keep them in the title hunt until the January transfer window opens. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/liverpool-striker-luis-suarez-rushed-2806219
The guy is a footballing robot. He just never tires, incredible really. Next scandal a drug related one?
Brilliant - shows you how much our owner actually cares about winning! And for all of Suarez's attributes, the most underrated one is his ability to play and perform consistently - rarely gets injured and plays through the pain barrier. I think Johnson once said he saw Suarez's ankles and legs after the game and he's usually covered in cuts and bruises.
I'd rather he sells the jet and gives us the 30mil... but still i'll take the jet ride... its not too bad is it as long as the colombian drug cartels don't put some of sky's suggested scandal inducing product on board for the ride.
Part of the 'package' I think. Uruguay let is play him against Fulham even though they could have embargoed it. In return we flew him down to their team camp in Portugal immediately after the match. So now we fly him back from South America. However, it's actions like that which will confirm Suarez's relations with the club.
its always good to lick hole with awkward countries. I think its only england we have a problem with now our players seem to go out of thier way to play more than any of our potential rivals players do... of course at least we are done with spain for now as they globe trot and injured torres for life.
