Hello to my fellow united fans. I was just wondering who do you guys think is the most overrated defeder in the premier league? Personally, i think its koscheiny. He is an awful defender who makes a mistake a game. I watched him play for France the other day and he made numerous mistakes as well as being sent off. Only arsenal fans rate him as everybody else knows hes rubbish. Cahill is also incredibly overrated and suits a small club like chelsea. Who else do you guys think is overrated?

Oh yeh and Jagielka, don't have a clue why Lescott doesn't start for England, Walkers still probably the worst tho, guy is truly awful

Who overrates Cahill? Don't think I've come across anyone who thinks he is that good.

chelseaceo, i agree with you on cahill, koschieny and walker. However, jones is still young and had a good game against Arsenal. Smalling and evans are far more overrated than Jones.

I dont think anybody overrates walker. I think everybody knows hes crap apart from a few deluded spurs fans. Rafael is also a tad overrated, he is decent but no where near as good defensively as the likes of zabaletta, sagna.

I rate Rafael highly, he was fantastic last season, thinks Evans and Smalling are good as well, Smalling is going to be great, I just think Jones is a fat lump of ****, he's alright sometimes but doesn't really use his power at all, scores a lot of own goals, his passing is average and his positioning is off.

People over rate Baines a lot too, Baines is fantastic at attacking i agree but he can't defend to save his life

Well if as expected he signs for Utd in january he will be a great addition to their attacking options but who's good enough to cover his arse when their attack breaks down and hes in the opposition half?

Page moss kopite, whats up buddy. I agree about baines. He is weak defensively but makes up for it going forward. His crossing is probably the best in the premier league. I still think Ashley Cole is defensively Englands best left back though.

Problem is Baines is fantastic at attacking but crap at defending and Cole is fantastic at defending but crap at attacking lol vs the weaker teams Baines is the better option as we need the full backs to exploit but vs the big boys we need Cole for solidness.

Although in saying that i still maintain Shaw deserves a chance as so far this season and last season he has proved both great at attacking and defending, him and Clyne are easily the best fulls backs in the league atm

Yeah i agree with you on Ashley Cole. Sadly, i think his best days are behind him. Rio Ferdinand is somebody else who is on his last legs. I dont understad why liverpool dont play agger more. I think he is the best centre back in the league after Kompany.

This, fat frank gave away the ball v Chile and it led to a goal because Baines was well out of position, it was not Baines' fault though

Koscienly IMO is one of those high risk, high reward defenders, great footballers who have a habit of making calamitous errors, but will also make some outstanding plays all over the pitch.

Wouldn't say Rafael is overrated. His biggest weakness other than being injury prone is that he's too aggressive sometimes. He's greatly improved his defensive work and is miles better attacking than any of our wingers at the moment. Him and Evra are the only people to put a decent cross in all season.

Jones is a bit of a conundrum, he's overrated because he's talked about as being one of the next United and England greats. He certainly has the talent and potential too, but is very much an unrefined and raw talent at the moment. Smalling hasn't progressed from an outstanding first two years or so, but he's been stuck on the right for the past two seasons so its a bit harsh to judge him on that.

Everyone thinks Cahill is average, everyone thinks Walker is crap. Jagielka is a fair shout though.

Personally, I hope we don't go after Baines, he's a minor upgrade on Evra in footballing ability at the moment, but Evra brings leadership and passion which more than makes up for it. I'd rather Buttner or Fabio be given more time to develop.

To be fair Arsenal have a good defensive record so he cannot be that bad.

Jones isnt amazing but I dont think he's that bad. Him and Rafael are average, although Radael does chip in for you lot. Starting to change my opinion on Smalling who I didn't rate before.

Cahill is okay imo. Him and Jagielka are of similar ability. Decent but not brilliant.

For us Johnson is overrated. Occasionally does something good upfront but is poor defensively and has a poor attitude when we're up against it.

Koscienly Is probably one of the top 5 center backs in the premier league, Rafael is a great right back but still has a concentration problem (this will improve with age), Jones really should be a center half but with the squad we have now i prefer him as defensiv mid (feel much safer when he is there), Smalling needs games now he is over his injuries but would not play him ahead of Evans except in cup games or emergancies, Jagielka is a very good c/h and made Lesscott`s name for him as City are finding out to their cost now, Baines just no, would much prefer Buttner or Fabio to get the chance, at the moment Buttner is in pole position and i have high hopes for him (wouldn`t mind seeing Fabio given a run on the wing though).

    Rafael average lol.

One of, if not the best right backs in the league.

Kos is definitely up there, but seems to make a bunch of silly challenges, but like David Luiz.

Rafael appears to have cut out his mental lapses (knocks on wood) the past season or two. We're much better on both sides of the ball when he plays.

If Baines is so bad at defending and good at attacking, why don't Utd buy him and stick him on the left wing and sell that arsehole Young?

Yet to play well enough regularly to achieve that accolade in my opinion.
