Interesting post Harvey Design Why are there over 75% not signed up to it? The other polls, are they the chat forums for Hull City fans or are they genuine polls that have been sent out to the general public to vote on? Having 4-5K sign a petition against it in a catchment area of over £250K doesn't bode too well for the cause. Have the 4-5K all come from Hull City fans or are there fans from other clubs? If this is the case then the owner might not be far off the 1% he mentioned. I can see why this might be a big thing but if the club needs to generate it's own funds under the FFP and there isn't a template to follow then someone needs to make a big decision and I think fair play to him for trying. The only reasons that Man U and Chelsea etc have become big globally is because of the players they've bought from around the world and small clubs like Hull City need to try something new
Are you totally deluded. It seems like a good article to me and is based on what has actually happened and been said. No journo however experienced is going to say "what a good idea, it will bring in millions" because they all know it won't. Like I and many others have said. Man United, Liverpool Man City etc are successful all over the world because of what they have done on the pitch and how long they have stayed in the Premier League NOT because they have a catchy name. You surely are just winding people up on here.
The ignore thing is not as easy as it seems is it Macca? I like to abuse him, he deserves to be bullied. please log in to view this image
Ignoring only that specific quote. It's clear attempt of starting of an argument is why. Everywhere else is fair game though.
Interesting post indeed, especially from a graphic design and webpage design company that make their wonga from acts such as name changes. With regards their reference to the catchment area it is probably more like 1000000 if you take East Yorkshire and North Lincs into account but quite frankly that is irelevent as the KC only has a capacity of 25000, of which 10% go to away supporters, so that make the support for the campaign nearer the percentage mentioned in the article and way above what our deluded owner seems to think. With regards their reference to the players other clubs have bought, this is true to a certain extent, we have only to recall our leap in Egyptian fans when we got Elmo and Gedo and the other guy (whose name escapes me) but this did not result in any extra revenue for the club that I can remember. But the biggest reason is without doubt performance on the pitch and the longivity of their time in the PL.
I find it ridiculous that they made that point without mentioning David Beckham. Real Madrid targeted him as he was the biggest player at the biggest (European) club in Asia at the time and saw their revenues in that part of the world go through the roof. I'm sure the first season he was there they sold more shirts (in Asia) with his name on than they did the rest of the team put together.
