    Be surprised if West Brom let Long go to us. We are at about the same level, and I though Long had done pretty well for them. I'd be pretty chuffed if we got him, although I don't think he'd be the strong, back to goal type of striker that we could do with.

    Dembele is a good player, but I don't think he'd be an improvement on anyone in my midfield, so its a no from me.

    Solid signing, nothing spectacular. He would still offer so much more the Shola or Cisse currently however

    Not convinced by Gomis personally, always rated Long though he has struggled at West Brom recently.

    I'd say yes to both. Dembele is class but we are stacked with CM's. Long would be a good signing. I think he would do well here.

    Long would be a great signing. Very pacey, great work ethic and good for 10-15 goals a season.

    Dembele would also be a good addition but can't see that one happening.

    I like Long. If it was him and another that would be ideal. I think Long is the type who would do particularly well here. I could see him outdoing his previous efforts a la Bellamy. The fans love a player with that kind of work ethic, helps lift their game to another level.

    Maybe not, but I bet he can lob a chair across an airport departure lounge as good as the next man !

    Would love him at the toon if I'm honest...always looks a decent player whenever I've seen him play, and he joe silly plays wells against us when he plays.

    Not likely to disappear for ACON duty either !

    I remember telling my Reading supporting friend we should go for Long after we sold Carroll, he wasn't too impressed as we was knocking the goals in for them at that point. Nearly went to Hull on deadline day.

    I like him. Ages since we've had that kind of striker who stretches teams for pace, and really harrasses opposition back lines. I've been a big advocate of signing him for a while. Not everyones cup of tea, I just have a feeling he would work here. I always felt the same about Robbie Keane. Not sure why, I just think some players suit the fans. Obviously both 100%ers but with ability.

    A practically free player who we were linked to in the past? Can't see it happening myself, but can see why the link's been made.
    As for Dembele, swap deal for Cabs mooted may make it on the sports pages at some point.
