Huddlestone was nonsense at first if I recall... I don't think it will happen either, but to say there is absolutely no chance is silly.
We'll bring in one, but I suspect that we'll be seeing some outgoings before anybody else comes in. Otherwise we'll just end up with a stockpile of players playing in the stiffs (like QPR had and Palace have this season). It's very easy for fans to write up wishlists and say who we should go for, but would you really want to buy two new strikers if we can't shift what we have? Otherwise you're paying them to do nothing and that isn't on. Sagbo is doing alright and if we can get Gedo going, he should provide ample cover. We're only playing with one up front at the moment anyway, so buying two would still leave one on the bench and you wouldn't drop Sagbo in the form he's in. Also of course assuming that we can send Danny Graham back in January; I suspect there's a clause but if there isn't, then he's with us for the season and we'll be paying a large chunk (if not all) of his wages.
Here's another unlikely but not impossible one. Kevin De Bruyne looks like he is going to go out on loan in January. I think that would be incredible if we went for him. Very unlikely though of course.
6 month loan so that he's in Hodgson's eye ahead of the World Cup, then he gets his free transfer over to America for his last payday in the summer. Failing him, I know he's not a striker but that de Bruyne at Chelsea is in a similar position. His international manager is telling him he needs to be playing, he's saying he needs to get games. We're not competition to Chelsea but Mourinho always seems to be complimentary about us so he might think sending De Bruyne here will help Chelsea by letting us nick a few points off their title rivals. It's one of those signings that nobody would think about us being able to make, but it's worth asking just in case it's doable.
I saw it mentioned on Daily Mail website, he's a brilliant player and would be a fantastic acquisition on loan even though the chances are slim.
I agree that the MLS would be worth looking at but I'd go for Landon Donovan from LA Galaxie who I suggested a month ago. He had two brilliant spells for Everton on loan under Moyes and is a winger who loves to get forward and score goals. Takes great corners/FKs too. I'm sure he's ready for another crack at the Prem.
I don't think that that is at all unlikely, in fact I think it's a distinct probability. The problem will be that we will face competition.
Not at all. Dr Allam has said that money if available. OLM said that the well was dry - as if he would know. Linked with everyone just like Palace at the moment. I would put a quid on this one. Hull City would be a quaranteed start if he came. Only a short term loan though. Defoe looks set for the MLS after the WC. Correct.
Donovan is the one I would want to. He wont come to the PL though, no chance of it. Especially not after he skipped the off season, and begining of the season as he said he needed a break from the game. Just no chance he leaves LA. Not MLS but if we wanted Americans Bradley is the one that I would want, even over Donovan.
