In fairness, when else are they expected to have the play off games? (that only come round every 4 years like.....)

donga will no doubt be blaming SAF by close of play tomorrow, should anything happen to either of your 2.

Gerrard: "The stage is set for Sturridge to prove he's a top player. He certainly has the talent. I was surprised #cfc let him go' #lfc #eng

Sorry Gerrard, I don't have time for Top players, only top top top players of the top top quality.

Fair enough. Play those games. It doesn't mean every ****ing country who's already qualified has to play, does it?

England XI to face Germany: Hart, Walker, Smalling, Jagielka, Cole, Gerrard (capt), Cleverley, Townsend, Rooney, Lallana and Sturridge.

Gerrard <doh> And thats at him not any England staff

Hopefully they'll both be back unscathed (And Suarez!)

That's never the right call...... for a ****ing friendly!

Jesus, Ronaldo fenomeno did that for a World Cup final and it nearly killed him! Playing with fire with those shots. Torres did the same when he started picking them up when he was with us.

It`s a really bad idea, numbing the pain lets you carry on playing but stops you from feeling when you are doing more harm.I have often wondered how the insurance companies that cover these multi-million pound assetts allow this to happen, or do they have some sort of waiver on payout if injections have been used.

I really dont get the way they schedule internationals
I believe its really simple to get the whole country behind internationals.
Every two seasons there is an international tournament, four for some countries in which teams participate, why not play domestic games during the international weeks and shrink the season by equivalent no. Of weeks. Then all the international players go off and a qualifying tournament for the major tournament a year later is played. All friendlies can be grouped prior to qualifying tournament so the FA does not lose vital income
The result all clubs would allow players to participate, barring major injuries, the only team that loses out is the national team as all players would recover for new season. It so simple. The fans would then get behind country instead of dreading the friendlies.
