What he earns is irrelevant I think he will be history come next summer, there is a reason why he has been given no money for new players and an extension to his contract. Think about it if it were you and you went to work tomorrow and your bosses withdrew funds needed for you to do your job and were not showing any signs at all of wanting or needing you beyond next summer what would you think? I think CP has realised that the signs are not good and has said what he has to the press in a bid to generate support and force the issue with Jiminez.
It's rare that a manager earns more than their team. I think vol's guess is in the same ballpark. I too agree with FHB. Such instability isn't good for morale, and I think it was a major reason we were struggling under Murray towards the end - constant 1 year contracts bring so much insecurity. That said, I think the board are waiting to see what division we'll be in. So hopefully come February we will be comfortable in mod table and get those contracts sorted.
Just googled this and there is an article in the Independent today which backs up vols idea as it says salaries range from 95k to 450k in the championship with the average being 200k . I find it odd that Fantastic Light thinks it is irrelevant what he earns as any cash strapped club will be looking to see where they can save money.If he is on 300k per annum and someone better /as good is willing to do the job for 100k they may do that to save the salary.Also if they only have to pay up his contract for a few months it makes it cheaper for any new owners coming in.
