Well he states fines will be levied in early 2015 as based on this season, but the FL FFP rules state that fines won't come in to effect until the 2014-15 season, so fines for that will come in Jan 2016. Let's not forget that we voted for the FFP, can't see us doing that if we thought it would be the rope to hang ourselves with.

I suspect that there's lots of legal arguments ahead leading to suspended fines at the very end. The purpose of this rule is to ensure that clubs do not overcommit, and not to fine them. To attract the very best players and therefore maintain a position in the EPL takes a considerable investment. If this concludes with a more considered approach adopted by clubs, then it's worked. But it should not be used as a vehicle to fine clubs.

We have had to cut our spending dramatically after losing 30M last season. Our owners personal wealth just went up from $150M to $1.6B. But because of FFP he cant keep investing like he has in the past. I dont agree with FFP especially when Watford make a joke of it by getting their owners other clubs to loan them players and give them free transfers. I suspect we will still get a fine because we need to cut 24M in 12 months. We have cut alot by selling high earners and only buying 1 player who cost very little. Forgive me if it's mentioned elsewhere, but what happens to any money collected as fines? Who gets it?
I read that they're donated to charity somewhere - I think it was in one of the above links. Which is bollocks, if you ask me. I don't want to sound uncharitable, but the money should go either to clubs that keep within FFP, or preferably to grass roots football (although that may be what they mean by charity)
Clubs like Kettering are going out of business for 30k debts, it should be divided among teams who dont break the rules. Most charities are a big con anyway, they have a ridiculous amount actually go to the needy, Im talking single percentage figures. The rest goes on "admin" ie playing a Chief exec huge amounts.
I just read another article on it, they are using our last season in the PL as a base for that figure. Weve already cut massively and still have Park, Remy, Cesar plus at least a dozen others to come off the books in the summer. 60k = 3m a year. thats 9m on wages for just those 3, add in Remys transfer and thats 17m off this seasons figure. Add to what weve saved already from last season and those other players and then you can just see what a laughable article it is. Thatas not even taking into account naming rights for LR or a dodgy sponsorship value.
The fact that the article speculates on losses in 2012-13 being as high as £80m almost certainly means that they will turn out to be significantly lower. The summer clear-out will mean that 2013-14 losses will be much lower again. So, to join in the number fabrication, let's say we lost £60m last year and reduced that to £30m this year. That would mean a fine of £12m rather than £60m - quite a difference. There must also be a doubt as to the legality of the Football League imposing fines on clubs whose current financial situation is largely a result of commitments entered into when in the Premier League. The fact that the fine would go to charity indicates that they are not confident of their ground.
