Sounds like a nice little deal.

Boateng is a very good defender and play can all across the back 4.

    This would leave us with..

    Ivanovic , Boateng.
    Terry , Alex , D.Luiz,
A.Cole, Then probally Bertrand and maybe Zhirkov.
With Essien also being able to fill in.

I reckon Bruma will continue on loan,
aswell as Jack Cork & Van anholt.

I personally like Ferreira and would like him to stay as a backup defender.
But i think he will leave!

Have we got a desperate need for another centre back...?

I'm not so sure, a replacement class forward & a winger would appear to be the shortfalls at the moment

Why would we want to sign a right back that struggles to get into the Man City side? The word is that we are going to sign Van Der Wiel as a replacement for Bos.

I dont think we need to touch the defence at all, I think we have one of the best defences (maybe the best) in world football. I would like us to strenghen in other areas. Right wing is for me our weakest area as we dont have a natural winger out there, I would not like to see us persist with Kalou/Anelka in that position next season.

There hasn't been anything concrete said about him leaving but his form has been poor since he came back from injury and the rumors aren't if he leaves but who is going to replace him. Not sure where he would go, but Spain would probably be the likely destination but Munich did show some interest a couple of season back. A part exchange deal on Robben would be lovely

Cheers, just asking as he was linked with us as we need a first team right back. How much roughly do you think he would cost, I know you don't need the money

He signed a new long term deal so we could keep his value from dropping. Might get 8-10 million.

Bos was a top class player - sad that injuries got up to him. He's half his previous self, just like Essien.

Or possibly a wide man that's got some pace, can beat players & cross a ball

    Oh hang on <doh>

Agreed with the wingers thing but back up for ash?

    Zhirkov if he stays

and with Bertrand and Van Arnholt on the books, we are fine at left back.

Boateng will not be going anywhereat the moment especially to another club inthe prem. If he goes anywhere it will be to Bayern Munchen and nowhere else, RM as said many times he wants to strength the club and not sell its prise assets.

Boateng wants to leave because he wants to play CB

He wont get that at Chelsea and knows Munich are the only club willing to sign him and let him play there

If you have to rely on terry as a CB I'd say you definitley need another CB, long past his best and the player most at fault for Englands shocking defeat to Germany. Living off past glories.

You evidently don't watch John Terry very often, he was imperious last season and has plenty left in the tank.

As with most CB's he needs a partner to cover the areas where he is weak, ie pace.

    <applause>

Imperious isn't a good enough word to describe the shift that man put in last year<ok>

Quite right...if Alex can stay fit these two will be a wall, especially if Guus plays Luiz to his potential...i.e in front of them
