I like the spiced for a change but agree that standard rum is the better drink. Cockspur is good for a standard rum at about £14 and as I said I enjoyed the Mount Gay stuff. Do you like the Havana Club range? I'm going to spend a bit on a bottle soon maybe £30-£40 so any you would point to other than what you already have?
Som nice ones of each please. Get some of that chick that was with the ginger dude! she's fit tool Katie or summin?
Yeah but look at Catherine Tyldesleys on the internet, far bigger and seem very nicely rounded off too I cant believe I'll go to my grave without ever feeling them
If you are prepared to stretch the budget just a little more say £40-50 then I highly recommend ANGOSTURA 1824. You may have to go on line to find some specialist shops to buy it. It's fine and smooth on its own but add a little ice and the honey and vanilla notes are set free to delight your taste buds - and that's me not an adman talking. As another alternative (and within your budget) try Pussers Blue Lable British Navy Rum. That won't disappoint.
Dave if your a rum aficionado . I once watched a food programme and they filmed on a French Caribbean Island and they made the rum using the same barrels and methods used in champagne making. The guy on the tv said it was the most amazing rum ever. I've never been able to find it or remember what it was called.
Sorry sweats but I'm not that knowledgeable on the French rums - most of the ones I've tried have been cheap and nasty. However, maturing in champagne barrels sounds interesting and I think I'd like to try that. Most of the good golden rums are matured in ex-burbon barrels for at least 5 years. like whiskey you then move to 12 year old rum. Some of the distilleries then offer very expensive 20/25+ year old rums - at very silly prices!! But I'll do a bit of snooping about the rum you mention and I'll get back to you if I do find it.
Well Cuba is the home of Bacardi but I would go for whatever the locals are drinking (you'll only pay through the nose for international brands)
