    Ha ha ha

Welcome to the bandwagon, sorry you missed the bus first time around.

I expect you'll be handing your pass, season card, ticket or banana back to the club.

Stick to your values man, stay true to yourself.

Do you have links or dates for that?

I suspect he is a sort of armchair or plastic 'fascist'. Admiration for Il Duce and the good work he did in Italy in the 1920s and 1930s is not uncommon. Italian politics is not like British politics, and admiring Musso is not as 'toxic' as it seems to be in Britain.

Plenty of flags of Che Guevara used to adorn flags at Italian grounds.....another political symbol used in a harmless pantomime way.

You may be right, but our protest isn't about the ownership or even against it.
It can be summarised by taking a look at our online club shop and then reading what the owner said last week.
Try it, let me know if you then understand why we are concerned. The problem is that there isn't polarity in this debate. We think that we have a voice and find that we may still have to shout to be heard. It really is a bizarre situation.

I bet Nigel Pearson sympathises with Steve Bruce......

We run the risk of becoming a freak club, more well-known for eccentricity and jaw-dropping madness, than solid and decent performances.

I've looked at the owner's interviews etc and agree that it's bizarre and frightening for supporters who are basically powerless.

The conundrum is, do you accept the situation and hope for the best or take action and perhaps make it worse.

It's difficult to debate with you properly as your mod keeps deleting my posts for some reason, despite advocating 'cross forum' posting.

Sad but true. Although, we're already a laughing stock I'm afraid.

It is cross forum. I've only deleted ones that were drifting elsewhere. As I said before, all are welcome, but sometimes things need bit of pruning.

I cannot direct you to sources precisely-it was RAI channel. As you can imagine I would sit chuntering about what a tw£t I thought he was.
Admitedly fascism to many in Italy symbolises an idealised version of a disciplined society as opposed to the corrupt one that exists now. Both the extreme right and left produced exaggerated propaganda that was swallowed whole by many people.
The fact that they joined forces with the Nazi party for me shows the dangers of simple/idealised ideas being hijacked by ruthless or stupid people(I do know this could be written about communism)

Just when we needed a quite solid season off the radar after our last spell in the Prem, we get this mind-boggling own goal.

Almost as bad, this farcical business exposes a weak underbelly of 'don't care' customers who have no grasp of football heritage as long as their tartan-blanker torpor is not disrupted.

I wouldn't be concerned about the deleted posts, the ones that I have responded to lately have been fine by me. Your history maybe affects how our mods treat you and of course I can only comment on what I have seen. Some will accept the changes and some like me will if the name changes to Hull Tigers simply not renew my pass.

I've said nothing out of order, as most of you seem to appreciate, but anything that is in disagreement with a certain person is deleted.
I'm not on here to take the piss, it's a subject that should concern any football supporter.

Rai Uno (Christian Democrat-Catholic), Rai Due (centre socialist) or Rai Tre (the channel 4 of Italian Tv)?

Benito was forced into Adolf's deadly embrace by the League of Nations sanctions after his ill-fated N. African adventures to win Italy 'a place in the sun' like the other European countries with their colonial possessions.

Although they had a few nasty types, the Italians were never as savage as the Germans, it's just not their thing.

Leaving aside his alliance with Adolf, he and his party improved the lives of millions of Italians, improved schools, reclaimed malarial swamps and marshes, beefed up the railway, developed good aircraft etc etc

That's why he still enjoys a nostalgic place in the Italian psyche.

He imagined Italy as equal partners, in reality they were considered a very weak ally by the Nazis.

I would be on yours taking the piss if the roles were reversed-or when we get our 10 point lead back!

It's just a bit of fun though isn't it?

The problem is that football owners, like Allam & Ashley, don't really have any feelings for the supporters and sometimes actually dislike them.

It's pot luck which owner you get I'm afraid.

BTW, don't get excited about the 10 point lead, Palace might give you a big shock .......... they had a lot of chances against Everton :emoticon-0105-wink:

I have little doubt that had Hitler triumphed the Italian dreams of a disciplined country would have happened -but not in the way they dreamt.
I honestly cannot remember which RAI channel it was on.It would have been the one that covered calcio. After he left Lazio (and a short spell with a small provincial team)he started to appear as a bit of a pundit. It coincided with me paying for Sky and stopping watching.
When he was a sub for Lazio they played the last game of the season at my local team.It was a sell out with a very large number of fans dressed in para military style giving a fascist salute. He warmed up in front of our curva -with fans and players applauding each other. He was playing for the opposition but he was "one of their own."
I have never seen such a display towards an opposition player from our usually hostile crowd(and I am sure many would have been fascists)
Di Canio imo was a figure head for impressionable young people and for this reason I would not have accepted him here in a high profile role.

Perhaps he was admired for his passion, skill and 100% commitment rather than his alleged politics?

What was your local team btw?
