I have an excellent grasp of history and yet I still think you're completely overreacting. Osv was merely saying you can find good if you try hard enough in the very worst thing. The very worst thing he could think of was Nazism. Why are you flinging your toys around the place at that?

I've heard that Hitler led the first anti-smoking rally. Funnily enough, his economic policies were socialist, he supported the vote for women and he supported euthenasia. Not sure how this thread got onto Hitler!

    Yep, this.

Apologies Lff if I have offended you, but I think you should probably read what I have written again.

Back on topic, Rupert Lowe is the worst thing that ever happened to Saints.

Askham was as creepy as they come. Also heard a few stories of him acquiring shares in "old Saints" (pre-Lowe) from widows & older fans in dubious ways, not telling them what their true value was and signing them over to him.

Wilde might have been, Lowe wasn't. He kept us punching above our relative weight for years.

I used to be someone would gave Lowe the benefit of the doubt. In the early days of his involvement I think he was good for the club, though in hindsight I feel it could have done better than indulging in a reverse take-over, and for that I completely lay at Askham's door. He got very comfortable over the years, sucking money out of the club.

Anyway, Lowe was in place, and I think he did well, but when major investment didn't materialise, he didn't look for the good of the club, he looked instead to protect his own position. He kept on with that stance when it was completely obvious that the club was going downhill fast simply because of the internal wrangling. Even Cortese today will tell of how he can look at the balance sheets from years ago and see how persons were milking the club [his words].

One of the nice little details of the Liebherr/Cortese buy-out is that we're well shot of all of them. I don't include Leon Crouch in the above.

Well, if you want to be that childish, then, "** ***** *** ** **** ***" is the only response.
