That team would be beaten by at least four goals against the Germans. That's what you get when two of your front three play for saints, he's just picking players from the top six teams. Not based on how good they are, its happened with the man u players and he will pick saints players until they disappear back to mid table.
Seeing players like Smalling, Cleverley, Henderson, Milner and even Townsend if I dare say, sorry but there simply isn't enough quality coming through. I fear for the future when Gerrard isn't around anymore to pick up the pieces. Wilshere is talented but to sloppy, a long way to go until if ever he cuts it.
Townsend doesn't belong in that group. Look at who they play for. They'd be nowhere near the squad if they played for hull, WHU or Sunderland.
Just got back from the game. Awful from England. Sanchez MOTM by a mile. One thing I must say is the Chilean fans were excellent. Passionate and noisy to the very end. I fear Tuesday. The thought of Schweinsteiger, Gotze, Muller, Reus, Kroos, Gundogan etc up against the likes of Milner and Cleverley is just too much to bear.
Schweinsteiger just had surgery on his ancle and is out until January and Gundogan is still injured. But you have left out the likes of Khedira, Ozil, Lahm and Schurrle so your point is more than valid
Its scary how bad England's future is looking and how good Germany's is looking. They had a bad team a decade ago and overhauled the coaching, we just never learn. We won't win a WC in our lifetime. Certainly not for the next decade at least.
Looks like there is more to come. Watch this nine year old Cologne player do the Zidane, twice, before scoring against Leverkusen. It's not amazing but it goes to show how much the Germans and Spanish wants the kids to express themselves.
Sad to say we were well outplayed by a Chile team that were very comfortable on the ball and, in Sanchez, had a truly World-class finisher. We were lucky Beausejour was playing or that would have been a total embarrassment. Until we develop a passing game and system throughout all levels we will continue to be also-rans happy to make the last 16 in the World Cup. On the evidence of this game we'll be lucky to do that and if we draw one of the European big-guns and another half-decent team in our group we might not make it past the group stage. I have an awful feeling Hodgson will revert to the same tactics he employed in the Euros last year...
Englands mentality is still as dreadful as ever ... It has got to a point now where it's daft to waste your life listening to Lee Dixon saying Baines was a few feet off his man Both Chiles goals were well worked and I loved them as they were a total team and England just cannot compete playing the game Chile can bring on any player ... Bang they mesh Good team England's fans welcomed Townsend like a god by the end they were booing him .... only in England England were outclassed everywhere The nation is miles behind the level required ... Still anyone can win that little cup in Brazil as the importance of that event shrinks year on year England need to throw the coaching books away . There are so many thick ****ers in the game who try and make our game a science There are basics in football and that's it ... The rest is skill, expression and teamwork ... England only just limped through the basics That Cahill is not good enough and should have got two reds Rooney is a very good player but there was no team there last night
Lallana has been one of the best players in the top league this season and last season. He deserved his chance and was one of our better players on the night. Just because he plays for saints do you think he shouldn't be given a chance. I can't tell whether you think our team should be only players who play for the big clubs. I think it's good that he's looking at players in form rather than picking players who are just squad players for the big clubs
We are where our world ranking suggests we are. Last night was about giving some people international experience - yes results matter, but sometimes like last night not as much.
Saints Fans should be very proud of the team, the club and the brilliant football they are playing IMO. Southampton are a breath of fresh air and play superb football. I couldn't give enough credit and hope they upset the big six and what i have seen they deserve to be where they are. I feel QPR and the Saints have a history of playing great football and our clubs are linked in tradition. Yes we have a pratt managing us but he is doing well. I hope we get to play against each other next year and restore a great traditional fixture i as a lad always used to look forward to
Agree with points 1,3,4 & 5. I believe Wilshire will be world class. He is still only 21 remember. Roy had to have a look at the squad. Although I don't know why he picked Milner, who he won't learn anything new from. We will learn a lot more about where England are if they play their strongest available 11 against the Germans.
