Anyone else think Lampard might have just played himself out of the World Cup squad? He'll probably go anyway of course, but that game completely passed him by. Barkley made more of an impact in the last fifteen minutes than Lampard did in the whole match and even Cleverley and Henderson looked brighter than he did

Well on WhoScored Adam was the only England player to grade over 6.7, with a whopping 7.5 thanks mostly to making 3 more tackles than the three central midfielders combined. Silver linings and all that...

 

I did think he was the best England player out there.

Hope Adam is okay...looked fine in the stands, but injury could come out when he cools down.

 

All a waste of time because I guarantee that when Hodgson picks his world cup squad, he will bottle it and pick all the old boring faces who have let England down before.

 

I'm not sure about that, he knows the last of the old guard will be gone next year and he has to replace them.

No one expects us to do much in 2014, so he might as well take some new blood, lets call them Rickie and Adam for the sake of argument. However, tonight's match tells you that we also need experience. The team against Germany will see some of the old guard back.
