If Rangers are in going for him now i doubt very much we will get him, if he has the choice between championship or european footbal i know which one he'll go for http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11714_6979808,00.html
I'm not that sure to be honest.Rangers get knocked out of the CL at the first stage every season,I'm not even sure they qualify automatically anyway. Then it's 8 big games a season and every other week playing in front of two and a half thousand. The SPL is very poor, it does however indicate that we are going to struggle to land Danns.I just hope our management team can determine pretty soon if he's coming or not and then move on should the answer be no.
I thing Rangers are the least of our worries with regard to Danns, they'll be out the CL after a couple of games, then there's a season full of ****e football to look forward to, the SPL has become a joke and a couple of CL games aren't enough to really sway anyone. It's funny that We're up against Celtic for Fraser Forster and Newcastle don't want him to go back there, as they don't feel he's really being tested.
I think money is the true stumbling block if you believe what the HDM has reported today and Rangers are skint. Also as OLM says Rangers probably won't get very far and there's no real tough games up there.
I don't think that's true. When guys like Joe Ledley go up there, there's obviously an attraction to playing in front of 50,000 fans every other week, playing in the Champions League, the Europa League and winning medals. Plus earning a really good living. Taking any bias out of it, if you offered me the same money to play for Hull or Rangers next season, I'd go to Rangers. They've just been taken over. They aren't destitute.
Any one any idea what we are looking to pay new players? Surely Rangers will offer more? Maybe it isnt challenging up there but if its a choice for a player to play for a struggling newly promoted premiership team or the thought of winning week after week i reckon they will take that. Plus some of these premiership teams may put clauses about reduced salary if they go straight back down. Unlike......
Eh? Are you questioning me or correcting me? That's what I said. Rangers get massive crowds at home, every other week.
Merely suggesting a minor exaggeration and for every 40-45,000 crowd has gets to play in front of at home, his next game will be a 5/6,000 crowd at some got forsaken ****-hole away.
Ah, OK, I get 'ya. I still disagree. I think a guy who's spent two seasons battling relegation from the Championship will enjoy winning most weeks.
We've as much chance signing Danns as we had signing one of the stand out players and captain of his country in the South Africa world cup.....step forward Robert Koren.
Lets all larf at the SPL...The old firm get 50k every home game. The rest are lucky to get one man and his dog....Its the graveyard of English players, none of whom ever do much good when they come back.....
I think we have a chance of signing Danns. Who knows, this Cash Converters deal could give us the money we need to pen a good deal for him!
At the end of the day if he doesn't want to play for Hull City then so be it...We only want players who are willing to get a sweat on............................Taxi for Koren
