Connor Whickham is very, very raw mate and would be a hige step up for him to be a marquee signing and he will command a huge fee. Personally, I'd rather spend £30m on Sturridge and Welbeck and have the core of the Under 21 England side as part of my front line.
According to GC, Wickham is pretty much nailed on to go to Liverpool, once he returns from the Euro under 21's.
Why wishful Commachio? We have £40m form the sale of JH and Judas. Neither of them were for sale either. A bid of £15m each might just make Chelsea and Man Utd sell up.
liverpool apparantly offered 7m last week which was rebuffed and according to a bbc journalist from the east anglia area sunderland have stepped in and offered 9m which has been accepted. twitter gossip i know dorset but you never know m8 maybe it was a condition when they signed henderson, to let us have wickham. Who knows what goes on in these meetings?
That's a pretty good theory on the Henderson negotiations Murray Apparently, we approached his club and were basically told not to bother with a bid because he is Liverpool bound. I suppose we will find out after the under 21's return.

Too much of a gamble for me, we should go for Daniel Sturridge at Chelsea instead. We need proven premiership quality to replace Bent.

I've got no idea how good Wickham is and I doubt whether you guys know either. If Liverpool are in we have no chance.
Exactly my thoughts. I suppose it's down to the lad himself to decide whether he wants to warm the Anfield bench, or play regularly. I've got a feeling he will choose Liverpool, despite the lack of first team opportunities.
Agree with commachio...Welbeck and Sturridge would be a great partnership up-front.Bring in Connor Whickham for the future,and we're cooking on gas.Young lads who are greedy for success is the future.
Welbeck and Sturridge would be great, but I can't see Sturridge coming or Chelski selling. Bloody shame though. Imagine going on the mags' board and comparing Gyan, Welbeck and Sturridge to Best, Ranger and the Shoal of Amoeba
