SC's mentioned his potential in the past. I believe he's playing a step or two ahead of his age level, IIRC.
Oh really, must have missed that. Sounds promising then. Anyone else think he looks like Juve's Paul Pogba?
I wrote an article on the lad last November saying what a good prospect I thought we had with him. A year on, I have seen no reason to change my mind as he has kicked on and has never looked fazed by often playing against players 2 years older than him. He is an attacking midfielder whose preferred position is in the middle of the three in a 4231 set up, although he has been used on the right and left. I was disappointed to miss the Fulham game you mention as that would have been a good test for him as Fulham are a good side at that level and have some real quality in midfield. From the feedback I heard, he gave a good account of himself again. Regarding his longer term prospects, difficult to say because I am still sceptical about the standard of this years under 18 football. At the moment he is meeting each challenge he has been presented with and if he continues to do this, then he will stand a chance.
From the THFC site: ''Come and support the lads as they take on Middlesbrough at Leyton Orient’s Matchroom Stadium on Monday evening – tickets are £5 for adults and £1 for concessions (under 16 and over 65). Kick-off is at 7pm.'' 1882 are taking up the call and going to create an atmosphere for the lads. OS who in particular should I look out for?
WHEN (no info for the Boro game on the OS Academy fixtures) ?? The U21s are soon to KO at Wolves today (Dec 2) .
Sorry been at work-only now I have seen your question. Info from website under archive news- game tonight.
I was in Wolverhampton this afternoon and witnessed a disappointing display from our under 21 side. It does not bother me too much if this age group gets beat, and whilst 3-1 does flatter the Wolves a bit, there can be no doubt the more ambitious side won. Kenny McEvoy continued his current good form and Bentaleb's performance again suggested he can perform at a higher level. This level is all about development, yet we do have a couple of youngsters in this squad who do need to step up pdq if they are to get a contract with our club.
"I was in Wolverhampton this afternoon and witnessed a disappointing display from our under 21 side." CM creativity/control ?? If so, with so many of last season gone or on loan, not much surprise. But could Ramsey at least give some of the U18 CM a go (obviously not tonight) , as there is nothing to lose as such.
I think this 'upgrade' will happen in the New Year, as in previous seasons. But as I have said before, I am not convinced about this under 18 group. Two or three at the most to stand a chance.
"I think this 'upgrade' will happen in the New Year, as in previous seasons." Nobody left in the U21s to loan out or get rid of now.
"Tim Sherwood maybe ??" What is his actual day job now with Baldini now DoF ?? Is he some kind of fawning toady around Levy (who I'd expect to be impassive to that) ??
Assistant First Team Coach, allegedly. In other words, Luis Martins has learned to ignore him just like AVB has learned to ignore Freund...
Yep 2-1. Very impressive first half which we totally dominated but couldn't put the final ball away-sound familiar, until we scored from a corner (Connor Ogilvie). Second half more even although technically we were far superior IMO but they were hitting us on the break. Ogilvie scored a cracker direct from a free kick. They managed to get one back when we failed to clear the ball. About sixty 1882 crowd created a good atmosphere.
He seems to do a DOF role for the youths. I am at the training ground at least 4 days a week and he is rarely out on the training pitches. He occasionally strolls across to take a peek and chat with Ramsey, but never for longer than a few minutes. His best mate is apparently Lee Power, the former Norwich player who has this morning been named the new owner of Swindon.........
