Here is an idea.. As Remy seems to want to use us as a shop window for his talent as a footballer, which is unarguable, but is unwilling to commit to a future at Newcastle. lets scope out other forwards to buy in January and if we can, buy one. We keep Remy on a string, making out we will probably keep him on loan till the end of the season. When we have the new forward in place and signed, we tell Remy and his team of agents that this is the deal we are offering, if you do not like it, naff off back to QPR, obviously leaving it so late that he can not go another team in the league. Call his bluff!! I love the guy as a number 9 for us, but i feel like he is using us a shop window!! He likes to chase the cash I think!! Thoughts anyone??

I don't think this is the right thing to do. We've entered into a contractual agreement with the lad. We all knew where we stood from the off. I don't see how he is using us, we decided to loan him and not buy him. Trying to now play hardball to force his hand is likely just to unsettle him and his performance level. We'd be far better off showing a bit of intent in January, kicking on and trying to make us an attractive proposition. The reality is though that if he carries on like he is then he'll belong at a top 4 club and probably end up there. Just the nature of football in this country.

I have to say it seems a bit of foolish of us not to have signed him but we can't blame anyone but ourselves. Its not like with Ba and he had a niggling inury. He proved himself in the league last year and looked worth every penny of the 8m asked (if that fee is correct) Once we decided loaning was the better option, if he did well the situation was always going to arise.

Agreed with Hacky, playing hardball with him, surely means there is more chance of him going back to QPR or moving to another club, still think clubs like Arsenal and Tottenham could do with someone like Remy.

Do we have a first refusal clause or anything as part of the loan deal? I've seen it hinted at that a price is already contractually agreed as part of the loan deal but don't know if this is true or just stories. It will still take us meeting Remy's personal terms of course, but I'd love to see us make it permanent. I think 'Arry has already said that whatever happens he almost certainly wont be going back to play for QPR.

Hard to understand the point of a loan. If he does well, we lose him. If he doesn't, it's a waste of time. The risks far outweigh the benefits. I'd understand if it was someone like Gomis; no guarantee he's going to do well in this league, so why risk that? But Remy came in and shone at a poor side, he's only going to look better and better the stronger the side he plays in.

That said, where's the surprise in yet another ill-conceived idea from MA/JK.

Probably because Redknapp knew how good he was and that once he'd played at Newcastle, then Newcastle were as low as he was then going to go.

Can we be surprised at anything that MA or JK come up with?

If were safe with a good few games to go we should think about dropping him if he doesn't sign, will hamper his France (If they make it) chances and might make him a bit desperate. the supposed 2mil loan fee we paid is quite a bit for a loanee (although he's already exceed that for us)for MA to not think seriously about buying.

Do that and I think you'll lose him. Hard enough to sign him anyway if you don't make Europe and someone who does comes sniffing. If you really want him you need to keep him happy because he will turn heads if he keeps his current form up.

Can see Spurs busting a gut to sign him. Had they had Remy playing for them on Sunday we would have took a beating as he wouldn't have missed a lot of those chances.

Which is probably why when we were meant to sign him the first time around, he left us in the lurch for .... QPR.

The thought of playing for 'arry and maybe getting some of the brown envelopes might have swayed him.

I think what is at least in our favour is that he appears to be enjoying his time here however long that be for, we showed a bit of faith in him when others didn't and the team is set up playing a style that suits him. If we keep doing well and pull a decent signing out the bag in jan to show we mean business he could be up for staying. I think is is genuinely one of these who needs to be playing week in week out. May count for something

Just play the guy, let him keep scoring and let the chips fall where they may. You can't engineer these things like some on here are planning.

He does seem to be enjoying his football and we're enjoying seeing him play. Long may it last.
