£7m is peanuts. Especially as the deal is for 10 years.

That's outrageous. How dare they discard the tradition of Derby Counties home ground for money. Disgusting.

It's over double what we got and it's a shorter deal.

We don't even get £1m from Cash Converters for the kit deal, which is utter ****e for a Premier League club.

We should bring in someone like SportQuake, who did Swansea City's kit deal, they got a major player in Hong Kong finance on the front of their kit.

Also there's a very good reason why we can't engineer deals like this. That's because we don't own the stadium, and its already sponsored by the most pointless sponsor available in the world.

I mean, what do KC get from having it named after them? People from Hull are forced to use them, and people outside hull wouldn't touch them with a barge pole - if you can even use KC outside of Hull.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Adam Pearson responsible for the Cash Converters deal?

Mr Allam stated in the interview that he'd welcome proposals from the fans which could negate the need for a name change. Stadium naming rights is one avenue to put forward surely.

I would agree that we have sold the club way short on stuff like that. Dr Allam needs to bring in people who know how to market the club much better.

I believe we got a bad deal because the old regime were in a desperate need ofcash at the time and just went to KC to extend existing rights

There's a bit of a wait before we can do anything about the stadium sponsor, it's tied up with KC until 2025.

    New Hat!!

Good point, but wouldn't KC Communications pocket the cash in such a deal? and moreover City would have to negotiaite with the Council - and that's a no-go at the moment, or so it seems.

We can do much more and better though than we have done so far. Even if the KC is in bondage at the moment.

Starting with the shirt sponsors for next season.

Being in the PL should be maximised not sold short.

I believe there is a campaign group called 'Pride Park Till We Die', 'PPTWD', being set up at this very moment.

another one bites the dust.. but I'll come up with other options.. in fact let's have a thread for positive, serious ideas. These could be assessed by OLM & Obi and if any of them warrant a thought they could potentially be proposed to Mr Allam

So it should. That is a very poor deal over 10 years.

Maybe because the Stadium is not ours to rename. Perhaps if the council would play ball with the Allams we could have funded a new striker this way.

It's the SMC who agreed the stadium name deal, the council were not involved.
