At the end of the day, it's a game of 2 halves. On paper, we should be out of sight, but there are no easy games at this level. If we set out our stall properly and keep it tight, on our day, we can beat anyone.
I thought our game against Reading started just as you/ we, would have wished for. We should have had 3 goals in the first ten minutes, sadly ................ they were blocked or hit the bar and Reading grew from our lack of scoring. Whenever any team misses chances, you know it will be a tough day at the office and we were lucky to escape with a draw. We have scrapped together some results to get us this far but we are yet to blast any team off the paddock with a decent score. I say this because it is only the team that are holding themselves back ................ belief is everything. The sooner we can secure such a result, the rest of the season should take care of itself ( I hope).
At the end of the day I think 'Arry' give's us unbelievable belief. It only takes a second to score a goal and as far as I'm concerned if they're good enough they're old enough. You win nothing with kids. Can they do it on a wet Tuesday night in Barnsley? But he's a good honest kid who has a sweet left foot in his locker, and he's set his stall out and by that I mean he has set his stall out early doors. He's a bit of a unit and it was clumsy more than anything. But for me, he's got a good touch for a big man. If anything he's hit that too well but he's got a great engine and has covered every blade of grass tonight. That should keep the noisy neighbours quiet. He's first five yards are in his brain but these things even themselves up over a season, but there was contact there, he was entitled to go down. It's backs to wall time as they try to run the clock down but he's put a decent shift in. You can't ask for more than that. After all, they played like they were the home team. But this is a difficult place to come and have turned it into a fortress. But we'll dust ourselves down and go again and hope that we've learnt from our mistakes. please log in to view this image
