Points that have been echoed from corners of this board. I fully agree with what he's saying here. On a similar note is it me or did Snoddy start last season pretty averagely too then missed a couple of games, villa away I think, but dam back with so much determination he made himself impossible to drop, hopefully we are seeing the come back of that Snoddy.
How can it possibly help? All it does is accentuate each and every misplaced pass, failed interception or scuffed / off target goal attempt. The players are FAR LESS likely to put things right with a vocal chunk of the 27,000 spectators getting on their backs than if they played in an empty stadium. Plus it begs the question 'why spend £45ish to sit in the cold and undermine your team (that you've paid to be supporting ) ' Rallying cries, by all means, but not tactics that could well backfire and make things worse. Footballers are human, too, don't forget - albeit fairly well rewarded ones. (Edit, just seen JimBob has left a comment underneath the article...Surely not?? )

I noticed that too general, I think it's probably a turn of phrase as opposed to a genuine comment on the size of the club.
Alan Shearer was dead right when he said that the game is all about confidence, and that the West Ham game demonstrated that. Booing is hardly going to generate confidence. I had noticed the 'little family club' but IMO he was saying that relationships are much closer and more personal than the big clubs like Chelsea or ManUtd where everything is far more remote and corporate.
it’s a great little family club. Can understand his frustration but that's a bit of an edgy comment. We had better hope that it is out of context and our players don't actually view the club in this way. It would certainly help to explain the city/utd performances though. Anyway I'll stop war mongering as we have just won a game and Hughton has brought himself some time.
Given how snoddy's misses has just popped a sprog, it may be a very positive view for him to have on the club. I'd prefer awakening giant of a family club Bah!
I may be alone here, but I have absolutely no problem at all with us being described as a "great little family club" - as long as the emphasis is firmly placed on the "great"
i think he is trying to come across by using the word little to mean friendly more than anything. apologies if this is covered elsewhere. Whatever is our appropriate size, we know our management team have big ambitions. hopefully we don't need to open up the 'what is a big club' discussion again

What I understood Snoddy to be saying is that all connected with NCFC, supporters included, are like a "family", and that makes disunity of any kind so much more damaging and hurtful. By implication, the players feel it more than they would if they were playing for a club like Chelsea or Man Utd with a more impersonal and far less of a family/part of the local community feel. The phrase "great little family club" is one that gets bandied about quite generally and probably just came conveniently to mind in the interview. It seems ludicrous to me to look for sinister undertones of any kind. It showed Snoddy in a new and positive light as far as I was concerned; altogether admirable.
Like 99% of the clubs in this country most of our fans are reserved, people are not passionate enough these days and it's like that at grounds across the country we're no exception to that. I'd love the atmosphere at Carrow Road to be a lot more electrifying I don't buy into the 'Well entertain us response' some of our fans have, it's about having pride in your club, the badge, the history and it's identity. Another problem I have with Carrow Road is the drone like sigh you hear from the River End/Jarrold/City Stand every time something go's wrong, I know there is some of you in there who want to make some noise and generate an atmosphere if you upset some miserable ****'s nearby you so what? They can do absolutely nothing about it so create a racket.
As an ex-River End ST Holder, I feel it really just lacks leaders to get things going. Stick 10 Beefy's in the centre of the tier, then have another 20 spread around in pairs, then you'll get an awful lot of supporters joining in, I certainly would have done. I'm not the type to stand up and start a chant though, particularly when I'm there with just one other person. It'd be nice if the club could find out who was likely to be vocal (and positive) and concentrate them so they could be heard well, and then scatter a few of the worst moaners amongst it, so that they felt put off voicing disapproval.
Probably be a good idea to give people a complimentary drink too DH! I think a lot of it stems from awkwardness and fear of upsetting people. I've sat in all area's of the ground and seen all sorts of results, one thing I always note is the lack of passion and enthusiasm from a lot of our support, I always think the moaners and groaners in these sections zap the life out of these area's of the ground. For the sake of the atmosphere I hope fans make some noise and if someone challenges them just say it how it is.
