steven reckons he,s in the best condition he has been in for a decade.

lets hope he silencers the doubters who right him off or have short memories.

i can not wait to see him on the pitch again.

Good, I think this injury has only helped the side. our side have no realised that they no longer need Gerrard & Torres, Gerrard now has to fight for his place in the starting 11 and he has had the best bit of rest he's had in years. All this an no europe next season should really see us push the top 4

Didn't he say this a few weeks ago? I'm sure he did, wonder why the papers are only catching up on it now...

Let's hope he comes back in the condition of his life as he's not exactly been the Gerrard we've known in the past few years. I'd love for him to give his all and really prove to everyone in the country why he is one of the best midfielders this country has ever had. After all, he can go for another 3-4 years if he stays uninjured.

If he says so then I believe him. However he's going to put in a major shift to get in the side.Kenny's philosophy is performances rather than reputations keeps players in the side, and Kenny also doesn't do sentimentality. If Gerrard doesn't perform...he doesn't play. However I reckon Stevie will relish the challenge.

This is what we want - players fit & hungry and having to fight for first team selection.

Stevie and Agger will be like two new signings I feel - would love to see the confident, aggresive Gerrard of old burting late into the box (lol that sounds like a Giggs move!)

Now if only little fat Joe could have the season we expected him to last time around...

I'm hoping Joe Cole has spent the close season filming a series of the biggest loser

I do wonder how different it may have been if he hadnt been sent off on his home debut? I still think he is a cracking little player - just hope he has a good season if he stays

Let's hope he can come back next season even better!

I completely agree with a point KPR made, he will have to perform if he is going to get into team. However, competition for places is a good thing. <ok>

The groin injury has been with gerrard for almost 2 seasons. When, apart from Utd di we see him thundering into tackles? How often did he chose not to go in for 50-50s? If he is fit and strong it will be a delight to see him back

Just seen this quote from Gerrard:

""For two or three hours each day I will have to work on my body to make sure I am right," he said. "But I don't see that as a chore. This is me getting right for Liverpool Football Club"

just about sums him up for me

He played far too much within himself last season. It was obvious that something was not right. He wasn't the rampaging Gerrard of old.At first I thought it was the negative tactics deployed by Hodgson. But the same thing happened under Kenny who insisted that the midfielders push on,Stevie wasn't.It was Raul Mereiles that was doing the rampaging whereas Gerrard was deep. One prime example was the Liverpool-Man U game at Anfield. Now thats one game, where Gerrard relishes bombing forward...He tucked in beside Lucas.I don't think he was told to,as if you look at it under Kenny with Lucas and Spearing, one always played slightly further advanced than the other.Lucas and Gerrard were both deep in the Liverpool-United game. Now thats a sure sign, something was not right.

In my opinion he has got a point to prove. Over the last couple of seasons he realy hasn't done it for us.

The team are now performing well without him, and he is know longer seen as the focal point of the team.

For once he has something to prove to the team, and hopefully this will give him the motivation he sorely needs.

He's had a long break. Having him firing would be almost like having a new player.

    Looking forward to it.
